Be interesting if you could just 'flip' it and then cut a hole out in the bumper for the receiver portion. Then cover it up with the license plate like above.

Bought the Curt hitch version for $166, a lot less than the draw-tite. Looks like installation is less complicated as well. With attachment a lot of protection for the cheap plastic front bumper.

Installed Curt hitch this morning in about 30 minutes with no problems. I have a TRD Sport which requires no trimming but instructions do say the TRD Off Roads need some trimming of skid plate. Air dam needs to be removed, but I took that off months ago.

I had one on an '05 Frontier for ten years. I used it for several of the uses stated above. I never regretted it, it was a Curt. I lost no ground clearance, just lost the lower air dam and the tow hook. I will soon have one on my Tacoma.
As an aside, I did learn to always remove the ball when in the city after a young woman hit her shin on it. I felt terrible about that.

Seems like something that someone that would wear a fanny pack and Velcro shoes would put on their truck.

I’m aware LED lights serve a purpose, a lot of members put them anyware and everywhere, which I don’t care, spend away

I like how everyone assumes he takes his truck off-road. Some people don't give 2 shits about ground clearance

The stock skid plate hangs down further than a front hitch. Some have commented about approach angle, you lose about 4”.

Interesting that none of you have used the Mobtown version.

Yes, it costs more than the other options. But it's much more discreet, (not hanging low like a clump) and retains OE clearances.

I'd think your high dollar 3rd gens would be worth the extra cost.

And to those who are all snarky about 'why', you've just never used one. Watch how boats are moved in dry storage sometime. There is just as much front connection as rear going on. Not to mention all the other options this unit brings (as folks have been showing) like a removable winch, bike rack, bed extender in a vertical mode for long loads, etc.

Some folks actually consider function in their choices.

Some people have used the Mobtown, but I didnt like that the shackles just lay on the plastic bumpers, there’s a bit of cutting required, plus it’s 3X as much.

A lot of people will complain about others buying $120 front hitches and $150 bed stiffeners saying they’re a waste of money. These are the same people buying $3000 aftermarket rims and wheels on a brand new truck for astetics!

I have a curt on my truck as well. Works pretty well and haven't had much problems with the off roading I have done.
