    Hi Gang,

I just installed Bilstein 4600 shocks on my 04 DC Tacoma.

Truck has 116K if that matters. Pretty sure the old shocks were original.

I did not want to lift my truck at all, and was just wanting to improve the ride.

The front of my truck is WAY higher now. It almost looks like it has a 3 inch lift in the front.

The rear looks slightly higher than it was before the new shocks. Nothing I cant live with..................but wow the front is a bummer.

Did I do something wrong? Can I expect it to settle? I need it to settle at least 2 inches, maybe more.

These shocks are NOT height adjustable.

The front of the truck is much higher than the back. It is so high that I can see the top of the strut while standing next to the truck. I don't need to bend over at all to clearly see the attachment point on the top of the shock.

Kind of bummed here............not what I wanted.

Thanks very much for any advice.

I should have mentioned that the original stock springs were used......front and back.

Could be the wrong shocks for this truck. Is there a part # on the shock or your paperwork?

    Tex,

    Thanks for the advice!

I guess you are certain that they are upside down? Im pretty sure that, that is how they came on the shock. Was I supposed to flip them before install? It does look like they would fit nicely under the spring if I flip them.

Is it OK to drive them for 15ish miles? I have to get home from work.

You can flip it for more lift that is for sure, however the ride was horrible! Knocking and a little rattling too.
