OP, I see you're from MA too. Having run these this past winter how do they do with icing on the headlight lenses? Normal halogens heat up the housing which helps to prevent icing. Have you noticed any icing issues with these?

I'm in the same boat you are. One of the main things I miss from my e46. Have the lights worked well for you?

I purchased the opt 7 a week ago. Impressed with build quality and ease of installation. Unfortunately as others have noted, the forward projection was limited. I have removed and replaced with this PIAA halogen model. I'm sure the opt7 would be perfect with a specially designed housing for LED. image.jpg

I'm very happy with these. Can't comment on longevity as just installed yesterday.

I am in the same boat as you. The colors look great but just looking at the pictures of how far the light is being "thrown"....these LED's aren't really that impressive.

exact same things as the OPT7 just someone they have not been anodized red an slapped a name on them. Got mine yesterday and they are extremely bright. Id gladly do a side by side comparison with OPT7 but I am sure they wouldnt send me some to test with. I got both sets of lights for less then 1 pair from OPT7..Dont pay for some red anodized metal and someone putting name on the same Chinese product that came out of the same factory.

Got my Opt7 H11 in today, shipped quickly on Ebay. Easy install, Low Beam Headlights look alot better and cleaner than stock Halogen bulbs, you can see the difference from my Halogen fogs. Thank you everyone in the past 100 pages (sarcasm for the square ppl, it was only 37 pages) for their install pictures and detailed comments. I'm going to buy the same ones now for my fog lights. @tasnowma

I have been running the OPT 7 LED bulbs in my low beam and fog lights for the last 4 months. I love them. The light color and brightness are perfect for our Tacoma's. I highly recommend them.

I thought I doing something wrong.... I have a 2016 sr5, h11 for low beam should be good but what about the fogs? I think they would be h16 but don't see that option from Opt7.?

For the fogs, get the same set up as the low beams H11. They fit perfect and look clean at night. I just installed mine, low beams and fogs = H11 low beam headlight kit. Don't buy the foglight kit, alot of ppl on this thread said they don't fit right.

Would you happen to have a pic of your lighting set up? Think I want to go 5k on low beams and yellow on fogs....? I see some just staying with white on both which also looks clean.

Its hard to see the true HID color of the fogs and headlights at night w a camera. I think there's yellow plastic caps available if you want to go yellow on fogs. Someone on this thread has them a few pages back. The fogs aren't this bright, its just that I took this picture from a low angle.

I havent read the entire thread, ive read bits and pieces since the thread was started. It sounds like initial impressions are consistent. Theyre great!! But that excitement goes away after a couple months? Is that true? Or is the majority happy about using these bulbs?

They look great! I have a $50 gift card burning a hole in my pocket and im on the fence of buying these bulbs.

I ordered my Opt7 LED and want to check em out for myself. One thing I keep hearing about the throw distance.... why not just adjust the headlights up a little? With the projector headlight, there will be a nice sharp cutoff that won't blind on coming traffic. I Guess if they suck, I will return them. Bought them from Amazon so I have a good return policy.

Maybe this has already been answered but I didn't read through the whole thread. I installed these in my lows and highs, had to use a polarity switch that came with them, but now there's a mess of cables just flapping in the breeze. Has anyone come up with something to tie the mess of wires/capacitors together so they don't dangle?

Zip ties are a temp fix for lazy people that don't have the capacity to come up with a permanent solution. Plus they just look fucking stupid IMO. it reminds me of people that say shit like "can't see it from my house." I just cant go down zip-tie infomercial road with my truck. Only caviar and farva beans for my ass.
