Just an update, drove an hour or so tonight, very pleased with the Opt7 lighting. Same coverage as the oem lights but so much brighter. They make the headlights on cars that I pass look yellow and dim. Never got flashed once, lows and fogs. I think I will be upgrading the highs with the same.

This is good to know. I am waiting on my set.... should be here in a few days. I wonder how they compare to the 2stroke LED kit? https://www.theretrofitsource.com/a...Toyota+Tacoma&preselect=&preselect_restrict=1

I don't know about the coverage, but I think if they cover more of an area than the Opt7, you might get flashed. I know the Opt7 can be purchased on Ebay for $80 delivered with a 2 year warranty. I had purchased a set of led lights from them and had no problem at all returning them. Those were $30 fogs and weren't bright enough for my liking.

I have been running the OPT7 H4's in factory housings now for about 2 years with 0 issues. 7,000 lumen 3500 each and they come with a 2 year warranty. 6000K Good White light no real Blue tint at all. I had Silvania Halogens in place of the factory bulbs. No comparison. The OPT7's blow them away. My wife's new Lexus with HID's doesn't even come close either.

Well, after a quick jot around the block, I have to say so far...

I am a little disappointed. Granted, its still slightly light out and there are a fair amount of street lights, but as others have noted, the throw seems to be very weak. I am going to go out for another drive in about an hour when the sun fully drops and try to find darker streets... to be continued...

Go find a road with no lights, I didn't like mine at first but after driving with them a few times my opinion changed.

Went to a near by mountain road to do a little testing. I do LOVE the color of the light vs stock. I also like how it seems like there is a slightly wider angle of light.... ??? (hope that makes sense)

I rode with one stock light and one LED in and the stock halogen did appear to have a slight edge on throw distance.

I also put one LED and one stock halogen to compare the fog lights. The LED has a significant advantage in the way it throws the light at an angle. (draw a light straight out from the A pillar from the perspective of the driver or passenger.... that area of the road) As far as the glare the oncoming traffic would experience, it does appear to be more noticeable, but not overly scattered. (I did not have the fog lights on with the LED in while on the road, only when I got to the mountain road did I turn them on)

The fans are loud and can be heard when the engine is off inside. Also they can be heard outside the truck with the engine on.

For now I think I will give them a chance. However, I am looking hard into the 2stroke

Ordered my opt-7 like 2 days ago and they just arrived. I'll install them later on today and hopefully I'm pleased with the results this evening !

I got them through Ebay and since I'm located in San Diego and they are apparently also located in California I got them in like 2 days!
Total was $86 for the pair after tax and shipping. I was super stoked so I like them I'm ordering Fogs as well. @Leo4x2

Aright, hit the car wash and then installed my OPT 7 low beams.
It's still daylight outside but here's a few pics.

It's amazing how the opt7 lights make the oem look so yellow.
