Had a guy from work next to me who has HID kit installed and I have Opt7 and the throw was about the same. LED was a lot crisper than his HID

Sooooo tried to install these lights into my fogs and they didn't fit and tabs wouldn't fit into the slots of the housing and the light output just sucks. Going to return these and just get some OPT7 headlight kit. Would not recommend.

I ordered the Opt7 HIDs because I've heard a lot of bad stuff about morimoto products. I had my heart set on ordering the morimoto a bit decided to try the Opt7s because of all the bad things I've heard on the morimotos. They are in my mailbox as we speak, I will install them tonight and upload some pictures when done. I'm a little nervous because I couldn't find any reviews in them so we will see

@'16TacomaTRD Yikes. I thought about the Opt7 HIDs too but haven't heard any reviews on them either. I did hear that the morimotos HIDs were fixed and don't have the bouncing or the radio static anymore but extremely over priced I think. Let me know how them turn out. I might just order me some as well if the come out looking good and use my mictuning leds as my fogs.

@'16TacomaTRD awesome, did you get a relay as well? I hear that the 55w will get too hot for the housing and eventually melt/burn some of it. Not sure how much of that is true or not. I had a 55w on my tc for months and everything was fine. I might go with the 35w idk yet.

Yes I got a relay, and I hope it doesn't get too hot. I'm really going out on a limb with these headlights lol

Probably a good choice. I have the opt 7 LEDs in my lows and fogs, I really like them so far. But here is the funny part, I have spent over $200 on lighting for this truck and I have had it for around half a year now, and I have drove in the dark at the max of 10 times! I am 16, and my parents are very protective and doesn't like me driving while it's dark! Lol

I just installed these. I ended up using the polarity flip adapters. The bulb seems a little loose in the headlight housing. They jiggle a little bit, not as tight of a fit as halogen bulbs. Anyone else have this problem?

They are tight. Not super tight, but if you grab the fan part you can wiggle them a tiny bit. I have the cable aiming down, like the stock halogens when they were in.

What lift are you going with? I plan to have mine lifted, but will probably just do a level lift and not mess with the suspension. I would like a 3 inch suspension lift but dealer said if power steering went out which apparently is normal the warranty wouldn't fix it and it would be a $2000 fix. And I installed the lights and they work, just waiting for dark to get some pictures

@'16TacomaTRD im gonna do the Rough Country 3inch lift. Comes with the 3in front block and 2in rear with some rear shocks as well. Things are gonna happen regardless, fact of the mater is thatbuts your truck and you do as you please with it. I'd like to make it my own and how I'd like it to look and if that means risking some stuff going out then so be it. And that's sweet man! Can't wait to see it. I finally got my fogs on, 2 hrs later!! Freakin tabs wouldn't fit the slots to turn and tighten so I had to mess with them and bang them in but had to remove the whole fog housing. It's a really nice yellow color too how I wanted it to be

So after two hours (30 min at lunch and 1 1/2 at home) I finally got these btchs on. Took patience and some beer but I got it. And a nice yellow color I was going for Fog bulb tabs didn't want to fit in the slots to turn and lock so I had to play around with bending the tabs and wiggling. Got two of them in except one and was frustrating so decided to bang one side in then turn it to lock with the pliers. Broke the plastic cover off the back of the bulb that covers the connectors but nothing some electrics tape couldn't fix. Satisfied with how them came out Now for some night driving to the bar and night shots.

image.jpg So here's the results Opt7 LEDs in the highs and fogs, Opt7 HIDs in the lows. The light is very bright and is very clear and crisp. It was a very nice color and no shaking or anything, I couldn't be happier. It really makes this truck look AWESOME!
