Cab rides are a much easier, cheaper and hassle free solution for a DD.

It's funny you say that. I traded my tundra in for my current tacoma. Should have kept it.

Sat in a Tundra PRO. Didn't care for the interior. Just feels about 8 years outdated but I believe it is a proven and reliable vehicle. I'd probably be happier in a Tundra right now BUT if I'm going to take a trade loss it would be for a new Silverado. I'm just not there yet. Would be happy to meet for a beer .

$3,000 TO $4,000 (total real cost) with an Apples to Apples Taco trade for a 2016 to a 2017 is about right and not too bad.

When the difference gets higher ... that is a problem.

If you are happy with it then great. I am not which is way I'm getting rid of a 11 month old truck. I have driven 2 other 3rd Gen autos and they all acted the same. I challenge anyone that says they don't have the gear hunting issues to post a 5 minute video of the tach with the cruise set above 75 mph.

i have that issue not even at 75 mph.

mine does it even at 55-60 mph. it may as well be a 4 speed auto because it honestly never sees the higher gears.

it feels as if you have the handbrake on while your driving.

i would love to trade mine in for a manual but i theres something inside my head telling me not to give toyota more money on a third gen just because of their poor decision and design on a transmission. especially when the dealer wont even look at the truck and wont flash the rev.1 update for me.

    congrats on the 17 though

I won't say zero complaints, but I've also not been bothered enough to take it in for the TSB. It can wait until the 5k service.

In other news, I had a chili dog for lunch. It was good. I'm glad I made that choice. Figured I'd better share that info for others who may be wondering what to do about lunch.

I feel your pain...your experiences mirror mine exactly. Time will tell, the truck may last 250,000 miles but I just can't get over it.

TSB smoothed things out for me and made it much nicer. I thought it was generally fine before, but the TSB added smoothness that I didn't know I didn't have. Recommended!

What kinds of chili dog? Pics? Bun lift specs?

Oscar Meyer dog on a Martin's potato roll hotdog bun, brown mustard, homemade smoked brisket chipotle chili. It didn't last long enough for pics to be taken. ;)

Maybe it's just me but I've always thought the SB looked funny. I was hauling 16 footers there which I don't recommend. I about couldn't make it out of the parking lot due to the wide swing the boards made. Like I said I'm going to miss my LB but at least I'll have an extra foot in the garage now.
