    I'm tempted too. I've been thinking of moving closer to my folks in TN. Parts of NC are very affordable. Others aren't so much, particularly stuff in the mountains. You can get a decent home in Raleigh for 150k or so.

    You can get land out in the sticks in many parts of the south for nothing. My folks live pretty far out from the city and they own 15 acres and one side of a ridge. Even with their house built on it and a 2 story workshop the whole piece of land is worth 180k. That's less than the price of a 1 bedroom loft in the nasty part of Oakland out here in Cali.
