How does a lease here in TX work with personal property tax? I know years ago I got screwed on a lease. I had to make the lease payment then about a month later the county said they want their cut. Was another 60 a month I think could of just bought the truck.

They have pretty much repealed the Personal Prop tax in Texas. It mostly only applies to business used vehicles. In 4 years I've only had two of my clients get a bill for the personal property tax. I think it's less than a couple hundred dollars a year if you do get billed. I think it used to be much more.

I hear what ya'll are posting actual numbers vs yota website numbers, if it came down to a 5k or more step up then for sure I would get the Off Road and be totally happy. I love the Grey color same as I have now, I don't need heated seats I am not positive but suspect they killed two batteries in my current truck. The sunroof never had one but would be cool I guess, I do love the idea of a powered sliding rear window.

As for the market adjustment price gouge, honestly I would tell that dealer to piss off and look at others in Dallas, Waco,Austin, San Antonio, Houston hell even Oklahoma. Bought a Jeep for my wife just across the state line once. Nice thing about The Lone Star State it's pretty big and has many dealers. I have inlaws in San Antonio so driving 300+ miles to save 3-5k not a problem.

Get back to us with how that works out. I'll be surprised if you're able to price a PRO at anywhere near the same discounts you can get on an OffRoad. While not every dealer is jacking the pro over MSRP, it seems those who aren't doing so are sticking to MSRP pretty firmly. If you find the exception I imagine many here would like to know where you find it.

Did you miss the first part? If they won't budge and the price will be a few grand more then it's Off Road all the way..

I paid under sticker for mine. No way I would pay some of those crazy markup some dealers are trying to get.

No, I didn't miss the first part. You can't do that until you do the second part, and I'm curious to see how successful you are with that.

Is your smoking Pro price below MSRP?

I haven't priced a PRO because I'm told it's an order unit only, and most of our people don't want to wait. Except people buying the high end Rovers. They have no choice. I'll check on pricing.

Everyone keeps forgetting on the TRDOR you've got to add a TRD Pro Grill, TRD Pro skid, TRD Pro exhaust, Rigids and the rear slider which puts you thousands over the Pro when said and done!

    Just go with the Pro!!!

Most will hate on this but I use the rear slider ever DAY! Opens up quick and easy to allow the sweet notes of the TRD Pro exhaust in the cab which sounds AMAZING!

My dealer over allowed on my trade a bit and ended up under MSRP on my Pro cement M/T. Took delivery 10/27 and just did my first 5k service yesterday, loving all 5300 miles I've put on it. Only added one option, the LED bed lights and so glad I did. They're great. My MSRP was $41,968 and dealer gave me hard money $1k over on my paid off trade compared to shopping Carmax to sell direct along with a wholesaler friend of mine.

Don't assume everyone wants those things.

It's the classic case where *if* all the upgrades are things you want or would do anyway, then yeah it probably makes sense just to go to the Pro as you illustrate. If instead a buyer has little interest in many/most of those things they're of no value to that buyer.

Of course and I was more joking due to a number of folks boasting about all the added Pro wants/parts. I was between the same decision as the OP and went the Pro route and glad i did. I'm a 41yr old male so no "fanboy" as most have been dubbed on here. I drive almost for a living and could say I live in my truck, I do plan to mile this thing out of warranty quick and will add upgraded suspension, lighting, etc. etc. For me its a great base to drive for the first 2yrs until its paid off then do the same as all the OR folks. I think the difference with most OR folks who are modding just want to do it out of the gates. I'm ok with wearing my factory bits and pieces out and replace as they start to fail. I got my color, my transmission and a few other goodies at the right price IMO.

All in good fun here with my original post. Again to that point, I'm shocked at the amount of folks purchasing Pro parts. Toyota has found a way to capture a huge market share in mods with this years Pro offering through accessories!

Yeah same boat 43, can't say I'm a fan boy, love the look of the truck. As for pro vs Off road if I go pro Big if then will change the tires and leave alone. If I go Off road or Sport then I have to figure $1300 for old man Emu front and rear. Also wheels and Durratracks so back at or more then pro lol can't win damn it. Oh and Flow master or old school glass pack, or cherry bombs do they still make those?

Some folks on here were seeing the new TRD Pro exhaust for fairly affordable, like high $400's delivered if I recall. I'd pay that all day for this exhaust. I've always done custom exhaust and very picky about sound, they nailed it with this one (took'em 12 versions I read somewhere but spot on!) My very first truck was 12valve Ram Cummins 4x4 xtra cab with M/T, still miss that truck! Custom 4" exhaust from turbo back with side dump before rear wheels! Yes, I'm from Florida!

If it's only 1k difference and you don't plan on upgrading anything on the pro except maybe rims n better sound system . Personally I would get the pro !

I went off road because I'd rather have a moon roof versus leather seats, I wanted blue, I wanted JBL and a 3inch lift :)

I'm not exactly sure. My fleet guy reps for a few different dealerships. He doesn't actually work for a dealership. He gets most of his stuff out of Houston, but not sure. Where are you located?
