You can cancel it and purchase anytime in the next 36 months. Call around to other Toyota dealers and ask.

I know, I don't like thinking about it. I started my journey looking at used late model 2nd gens but couldn't find any for less than 25k (most were around 30). Reliability was really important to me so I spent the extra and went new.

You do realize it's 75 mts. Not 72?

edit: I can almost guarantee, adding up all what is written vs. what you were told, they 'had coitus with you' somewhere along the way.

You can cancel extended warranty and repurchase it at any time during the standard warranty period.

Yes, I'm not sure why that is the end result number of payments. Nobody sells loans for 6 years + 3 months. The agreed upon terms were 72 months.

They see that as a challenge. They're good at what they do.

If they put that much effort into their wives....

The ONLY way to win is to finance yourself at your bank and talk as little as possible to the reptiles.

I hear you. I'll be less willing to give them a chance in the future. I've purchased cars in the past and have gotten better financing through the dealer.

I'll call around tomorrow to shop other dealers for warranty extensions. It definitely looks like they marked that up on this deal. Thanks for the tips guys. I spent so much time focusing on getting a deal on the sale price that I neglected to do my homework on how to negotiate the financing step.

Edit: I can tell this is a great community. I appreciate all of your responses!

I paid $1050 for a 6yr/125k this time last year. I would cancel ASAP, since its prorated and then shop around you can buy out of state and have until the 3yr/36k point.

Here' my point of contact: Brian Hyman at Pedersen Toyota Fort Collins, CO, (970) 223-3100
or you can use fd-warranty.com (actual toyota dealer close to dealer cost)

I'll add too you can use those quotes and try to get your dealer to match them, my last dealer did that, he even complained about only making $20 on the deal lol.

    Shitty deal OP.

I know that feeling. Went in unprepared on my first dealership vehicle and got worked over. Hope you get some sort of resolution.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Even with financing the whole amount of the truck and the $3k extended warranty, OP is still in far better position financially vs people buying German or American cars. He’d lose that in depreciation just driving off the lot.

    Enjoy the new truck!

2016 Tacoma (SOLD) leased RTL-E Ridgeline
AVS Bug Deflector. TruXedo Lo Pro
When I leased my Ridgeline, I read every number and found the "rental fee" (interest) total was over $6000!!! I backed out of the deal in the finance office because I have 800 credit and won't pay that much in rental fees. The dealer had to find alternate lease financing and went with US Bank. The rental fee was cut by 2/3rds. NEVER let your guard down in the F&I office. That's where the dealer makes a lot of their profits. MY lease ended up at $400 now. Much better. The rental fee went from $166.0 a month in interest to $55

Read and understand EVERY line item. Or bring someone that does understand auto sales contracts,

Great advice! That goes with purchases as well as leases. Definitely question added "fees," and don't be afraid to walk away.
