I never had a problem climbing into the back of my recently traded Tacoma (or my new Limited) when the tailgate was up so I could step on the bumper, but when the tailgate is down, forget it!

I just took advantage of the free shipping using code "family" at https://parts.toyota.com/ when I got my new bed mat this week, so I figured I'd use it again and get a step.

Just under $200 to my door. This price seems a little steep for what it is, but I'm sure it will get a lot of use and looks like it's well made. Looks like installation is a piece of cake.

Code is good until the end of the month.

Is the bed step for Tacoma’s with the oem 2 in receiver or can I add one to my Tacoma with an aftermarket one?

Gotta love the bedstep. Install is super simple with the correct size socket, a decent extension and a torque wrench.

A little steep for a little step.

I did the same and put one in my 2020 - 26 years of active military service beat up my knees. Well worth it though!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that wants/needs a little help climbing into the back when the tailgate is down! :)

Supposedly there is two positions where it can be - which position did you install yours ?

I’m interested in this also. Looks like mine can move up by the gap I’m looking at. Not sure though

I assume it can only be installed on the truck's driver's side. Is that the case? From a comparative strength of my legs (right knee replacement makes it the weaker of the 2), I would prefer it on the passenger side. But either would be an improvement over crawling in the bed over the tailgate, let alone the unpleasantness of jumping down onto 72 year old legs.

Also, would it be prone to getting 'scraped off' on rough tracks?

Can only be mounted on the drivers side only. Yes, it does hang down a little bit so it could get hit or damaged by wheeling. As for the positions, its the step pad that can be positioned to where you want it to stick out further from the center of the truck, or tuck in further towards the center of the truck. By the way, its supposedly designed to be lowered or raised by using your foot, I just reach down with my hand and raise or lower it, seems easier. But probably not.

I saw the vidoes linked and it said there are "two positions" for this

Once I get mine in hand - I can see which one to do. Some people said they can't put their sneaker in , when its in the tighter position.
