    Hi guys!!

I’m new to the Tacoma world coming from a heavily modded m4. That was a fun world but getting out with the family to places the m4 couldn’t go is even better.

We decided on getting both a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport and a 2019 wrangler unlimited.

The Tacoma is first up for Getting mods and a lift.

I ended up ordering a kings setup from headstrong.

I went with extended travel, 700lb springs, adjusters in the rear (all that was in stock and I’m impatient haha), Heavy Dakar pack, and SPC UCAs.

I know some will say it’s going to be a stiff ride but I’m of the camp that I only want to do this once and it won’t be long before before I’ve got a rack on top of my diamondback and front and rear bumpers.

I guess onto the real purpose of this thread outside of the intro. The UCAs. I went with the SPC for flexibility but I am really eyeballing the Total Chaos. The maintenance doesn’t scare me on them but I’ve seen where some guys have gone from the TC to the SPC. What have you guys seen ? Will I be able to run the TC without rubbing with 285s on the stock wheels (plans to change them just haven’t picked a flavor of wheel yet) ? Getting a CMC as well btw.

What’s everyone’s take on UCAs. Should I keep the SPC or get that TC

Keep the SPC. I have Kings with 700lb spring and TC uppers. The squeak gets old and the bushings do NOT last very long for me even when properly greased and torqued. The uniballs are kind of a pain as well. Check out the icon delta joint if anything.

This seems to be a recurring theme. I’ll take a look at the icons to. Trying to remind myself I want the build to be purposeful and not just aesthetics. Moving to the New Hampshire this year from flat Florida and I plan on thumping on the truck pretty heavily.

I don't really know why anyone goes with uniball UCAs when they cost more and they seem to have noise issues for everyone. SPCs have been great for me. You get more adjustability with SPCs and more articulation with the ball joint.

SPCs aren't exactly inexpensive anymore especially since they changed the design to a forged arm. You can get the older style tubular arm ones through Mevotech (re-branded older SPCs) for less $$$

I think I’m gonna run the SPC and save the bucks. I think they will probably come in handy when selecting wheels and tires if I need any adjustments and I just keep hearing more and more positive things about them.

SPC had some issues 4 yrs ago or so but addressed them. I never hear anything negative about the last couple versions of them.
