One of the reasons I was not going to buy the TRD Sport was that hideous air dam. After I researched on forums on how to remove it, I literally found the Sport and the color I wanted.

TRD off roads are merely good looking trucks. TRD Sports are freaking gorgeous, great job she's a beauty!

My OCD required green letters in the grille. So I had to get a grille with letters so I could turn them green. Actually the trd pro grille comes with the factory lift I had the dealer install before I even got the truck, so there was these black letters that needed to be green.......or something. That's my excuse!

Hold off on getting a bed mat. They are pricy. But if you catch a dealership on the right day (like a Labor Day sale), you can pick one up for $80-ish bucks. I think retail is $160? Trust me, you want the OEM mat.

Do you know if you want a soft or hard tonneau cover? Soft ones can go as low as $300, and hard ones can be upwards of $2k. It all depends on styles/colors/retractable/foldable, etc.

This is the one I got for mine. Works great, I didn't have to drill or screw anything in to get it installed. It took about 10 minutes to install and I was able to do it by myself:

Just curious, what is the benefit of the bed mat? Do they have good grip? I’ve never seen one in person.

They have seriously good grip. Nothing slides around in there, nothing. Not ever. The plastic bed will make whatever you put back there do the electric slide.

Example: If I put a 24pk of bottled water back there (before the bed mat), it would slide left to right and end up near the cab of the truck. I always had to jump into the bed to go get it. Once I put the bed mat in, the 24pk stayed in the same place, no matter how many sharp turns I made or sudden stops.

I almost bought the same truck but I was waiting for prices to cool off, I was shopping around during 2022 / the height of used truck prices. I'm glad I didn't buy used then.

It's been 3 months and 2500 miles and I think I'm done with mods. At least for now. I just installed the grille that I purchased from Taco Vinyl and no issues with the sensor.

Overall, I really love this truck. Yeah, the transmission takes some time to get used to, but I've driven worse. I might get it tuned.

I traded in a 2022 Camry XSE and there are a couple things that I miss.
Larger radio - I'm getting old and the bigger screen made a huge difference.
Blind spot monitor and the Rear Cross Traffic alert. I would definitely buy that option next time around.

It's been 30 years since my last pickup. I decided on a 2023 TRD Sport 4x4 in Lunar Rock. I didn't realize it until I got home, but that sunset was amazing. Best part, I got it under MSRP using Costco's vehicle buying program.

I want to keep it as stock as possible. Just want to add a TRD grill, TRD wheels, and a Tonneau cover.

Nice improvements! The air damn delete makes it look so much better. I didn’t notice any difference in mileage. However when I went to 0 offset wheels….. that’s a different story

Greetings from Scottsdale.

Nice mods. We traded emails back when you got it, and i had a long road trying to get a dealer to do the Costco deal on a TRD OFFROAD 4x4, then a lunar rock fell into my lap 4 weeks ago, no add ons, costco discount all worked out.

I am just now installing a undercover ultraflex tonneau, and a trd pro grille but with black letters. I’ll post when completed later this week.
