Obviously haven't seen mine in snow yet, but I can tell from the very first puddle I drove through that they will be awesome. And the tread pattern is way more snow friendly than pretty much anything BFG puts out. Definitely the biggest reason I went with these tires over the BFG's which I can't argue look really bad ass.

Ordered the Michelin ATD LTX A/T2 265/65R17 tires online from Walmart on Saturday. Had them installed today. The date of manufacture was the last week of May this year. I've had my last flat on the OEM Dunlops! Looking forward to worry free driving on these. My only concern was whether or not Walmart would deliver fresh tires, and that turned out not to be a concern. I certainly like the way they drive (have a whopping 10 or so miles on them now).

I'm interested to hear your experience with them. I've always heard a nasty rumor that walmart Sam's Costco etc. get a different/cheaper tire from the manufacturers.
No idea if that's true or not.

I don't believe that rumor can be true. Retailers that can order in enough volume can and do order their own specification tires, but they use a distinct name for the tire to differentiate from the other models from that manufacturer. One example is the Goodyear Wrangler Authority made for Walmart. There is an extensive thread on it in this section of TW. The tire manufacturers would not have two different specification tires with the exact same labeling for several good reasons, including legal liability for conspiring to defraud customers.

Of course, everything I wrote is null and void if you read it on the internet.

Care to share what you paid? Mine are 265/70/16's, they were $180 each. I thought that was reasonable. They aren't cheap tires.

My size was $190 each. Walmart was advertising a price rollback on the Goodyear Authorities when I pulled into their parking area, which would have been (overall) $200 cheaper, and I was briefly tempted. I wanted the quiet ride and other attributes of the Michelins with little likelihood of balancing issues that some have written about with the Goodyears. So, I gladly stuck with my choice. My son put much more expensive Mickey Thompson tires on his Exterra a year ago and now regrets going for the look and aggressive off-road performance over day-to-day driving. The noise is really bugging him. He's really interested in the Michelins.

That sounds good for 17's. Fair price.

$/mile they're by far the cheapest tire I've ever owned.

Sorry to wake up the thread. How are you liking those A/T2's Jethro? I'm about to pull the trigger myself and those look mighty good. I'm stock at 245/75/16, but the Wally World price for me today is $199. That's more than some of you paid for larger tires. Did the price you folks state include mounting and balancing? Thanks.

Yeah, they've been great. Had the pleasure of my first snow drive today, 35 miles on highways that were completely untouched. Great traction, no complaints. The tires still ride really, really nice. I will likely buy them again and that says something because I almost never buy the same tire twice because I always want to try something else.

Thanks for that Jethro. Just pulled the trigger myself. Got the E load range ones. They were $163.50 each plus the dealers "stocking " fee of $13 plus $10 for mounting and balancing. So $186 a pop. Of course I'll have to add something for NYS. Not too bad. The lower load range model would have been $168. Get them put on tomorrow at Mavis.

Decent price, not far from what I paid. The sting of the bill hurts less the first time you drive on them. These are great tires. It's been horrible roads here the past few days, slush, snow, ice... I haven't heard my ABS kick on once yet. Great traction and great ride. If they last 60k miles I will buy nothing else for this truck.

You were right! I noticed the difference the minute I Drove it. Much lighter feel to drive! I love them! I was shocked when the installer told me he inflating them to 70 psi as they are LT tires. My OEM Dunlops were p metric and were kept at 35 psi. image.jpg

70psi? are you sure? I run mine at 45 on the street and I'd say that's definitely on the high side.

I was a little concerned myself but the installer says they're rated for 80 psi max because they are LT tires. Said they will wear quickly if I keep them at 35.

Yeah, 45 is definitely a little on the high side, but not crazy, that'll just give you a little harsher ride and better MPG. 70 is WAY too high: I run 35 front, 32/38 rear unloaded/loaded.

This installer doesn't know what he's doing, it doesn't matter what the max PSI is, you don't want to be anywhere near it. Go by what the truck recommends, usually ~32ish: start there and decide what you like.

I called both at Michelin and Tirerack and they both said 50 psi. I'm going to go down to at least 60, maybe lower.
