I went through just about the same exact thing during Christmas a couple years ago. Watched her being born, she was almost 19. Worst Christmas ever. First time I've had to do it. Seeing them in pain sucks. The agonizing and indecision sucks. Playing god sucks. Saying goodbye sucks. The despair sucks. Hang in there, man, you're not alone.

thank you all for the kind words. these are the kinds of things that make this forum such a great place. I took her home with me so i could lay her to rest at her own home. It felt like the right thing to do since i have no idea what the vet does with them after wards. Once i finally got her all settled in her blanket, i felt at ease. It hurts every once in a while when i think about it but i just keep reminding myself that she is much happier now.

thank you all. and to those who have lost their fury little friends, i am sorry. The vet told me today that God wouldnt let us have pets if he was just going to turn around and take them from us. We will meet back on the other side when the time comes.

Sorry for your loss. Nothing hurts like losing a friend. Animals are loyal and always there when you need them.

We just have to love them while we have them and give them the best life possible.

troof. sorry to here bud:( me and my girl fostered my buddies cats a few years back for like 3 months. when we moved, the new pad didnt accept cats so my buddy had to take both of them to the aspca. unfortunately, they have to pass some tests to see if they can be adopted out. my fatty harlot was a bitch till the end. she bit a tech and had to be put down. my buddys wife had her for almost 15 years. i teared up when i found out the news. it was a bittersweet end for her partner clyde cause she passed the test and was adopted out like a week later. i still miss my fat girls. .

damn sorry to hear Greg. Today has been pretty good for me. I am glad I made the decision to put her down. It wouldnt have been fair to let her suffer.

thank you all for the support. much appreciated.
