One of my maintenance employees said she needed help changing out a flat with a small stick in the sidewall.

Yeah, your tire isn't supposed to have that shape...

    Or have your belts showing...

Sub'd. In high school I once changed a tire due to a flat and put my lug nuts on backwards. Tapered end out... it was a sketchy drive to a tire shop for a new tire. The tire shop owner comes out and ask me if I put the spare on (with a big smile on his face...)

What made it worse is my Dad owned an auto repair shop down the road and the owner of the tire place just had to call and let my Dad know. This was 20 yrs ago, still haven't lived it down.

Yes I drove it in. Mid 2000's F250 super duty (didn't even know they made manuals for the newer super duty's) came in for one tire. Also had four cracks going the length of the windshield...

It still steered but wobbled everywhere while you were turning the wheel.

This is great... My uncle ran a tire shop for years and had bucket with all the random stuff they pulled out of tires. It was incredible and very surprising that some of the stuff would puncture a tire.
