@spylake - Why are you even on this forum? You have consistently defended the Honda RL's look and purpose to no end. I'm not sure you've defended your Tacoma, yet. Do you even like your Tacoma? Given the chance for a redo, would you pick the RL over it? You may be only defending its purpose to those of us who don't care for it, but you've almost went too far, IMO. I'm sure you don't need a reminder, but this is tacomaworld. Most all of us will defend our tastes in trucks and bash others...mostly. I can see its purpose and function, but I simply don't care for its looks at all. Not no, but hell no!

@Longboard1110 - You stated that it was ironic for 3rd Gen owners to say the RL is ugly (as if to indicate that the 3rd Gens are, too)...I for one think the RL is fugly and I'm the proud owner of a '16 Limited. And I traded a lifted '09 for it...and there are several member on here who have done the same. Me, I like BOTH, not one over the other. The styling of BOTH took a little time to grow on me, but I like both vehicles. I'm a Tacoma lover...all years.

Spylake doesn't have a Tacoma. I think he is trying to convert people.

Well, they said some 90%+ number of people use their trucks for daily driving, commuting to and from work, etc. So I think that is their target.

But you are absolutely right, a large percentage of people I assume factor in "well, what if I DO want to tow this much someday or go offroad here, etc etc" when dropping that amount of cash on a truck. I'm guilty of this, the big what ifs are what drove me to get a tacoma.

There are also a percentage of people that care most about looks. The tacoma still wins there (I know that is opinion based).

I don't think the ridgeline will cause diehard tacoma fans to jump ship. But the ridgeline definitely has its market, looks like a good vehicle overall, and will be successful in its own right. It won't change the market but it will get a good enough piece of it I think. Then the Ranger will come out and finally there will be midsize competition from every angle again.

You are correct. My bad and thanks for setting me straight.

A new question, then: why are you on here, spylake? Go to a Honda RL forum and be merry with like minded people. We here on TW are like minded toward our beloved Tacoma.

Awesome. We have had 4 minivans, 3 of them Honda Odysseys, and I don't care what the macho fan boys say on here, there is no better value for money than a minivan. Versatile, easy to drive, comfortable seating position, good visibility, etc...
I love my truck, but I have no man-issues driving the minivan.

How is it in the snow. Then again you may live where you don't get any snow. It all comes down to a persons life style. I do a lot of hauling of home improvement materials and in my area we can get a lot of snow. I can not stay inside all day long when we get a lot of snow. Therefore a minivan is totally useless to me. Also I don't have any kids so all of that minivan interior is a waste for me
Again it is all about people's life style Only a taco will do the job for me.

I have no issues with a minivan... I just personally wouldn't spend my money on one.

Agreed. That's why I have a tacoma also. And, without a familiy I would not have had the minivan; like you say, people's life styles will determine what they need.
And I am in Florida, so no snow. :)

Well, we have lots of sand....

My DD is a company provided Ford Explorer. I do construction management so I go on construction sites. I have had 4x4 Explorers for about 10 years, and never used it. Then I got a new one last year, 2x4, and got stuck 3 times in 2 months. Go figure.
