If linda tripp bought a new car, it would be a ridgeline.

See, I learned something new. That door not opening wide enough and the inside arm rest sticking out hampered loading. Boxes that would fit the space would not pass the door. Seems they retained that flaw.

    Nothing is perfect.

I said it was all in fun. I guess insecurity and no sense of humor go hand in hand. Buddy.

I don't see why it was engineered that way either? They could have lengthened the cab and had the rear doors swing wider.

Also one minor gripe. The front seats have individual armrests (nice) but only the driver side is adjustable for height. The passenger only has 2 positions. Up, or down (but at an awkward angle)

Fortunately I never sit there. I just won't tell the wife mine is adjustable.

Well, Dodge has the hidden ice coolers under the floor in back.

I do have to admit I love the Toyota dump bed option.

The Ridgeline has GREAT features, really. If I'm paying 30-40k for something though I have to like the way it looks, the Ridgeline is ugly as sin.

IMO, the front end kind of looks like an Accord front end, it may be a decent truck but it`s too butt ugly for me to ever buy one.

Yeah it does look more car like. Aerodynamic sloping hood with much better foreground visibility. Of course if you have a 2 year old with a tricycle maybe its good that you can see her over the hood better.

I think every potential Ridgeline buyer understands this is a more refined truck. They also know their needs span a wider arc. From commuting in comfort to hauling kids as often as you do sacks of cement. The only area where another truck is mandated is towing more than 5000 lbs or if you frequent hill climbs or offloading where more clearance if needed.

But all that aside. Why the visceral animosity. It does not take a psychoanalyst to realize this is the reaction when someone is threatened. If the idea of Honda selling lots of ridgelines scares you then maybe you should be worried.

I think the Gen II will find a wider audience than the first (admittedly oddball) Gen I did.

No animosity here, I don`t hate anything

IMO, it`s ugly and it`s just not for me.

Lest you think I have something against Toyota, I've owned several and loved each one. Maybe my all time favorite car was my 84 Tercel wagon SR5 with FWD/4WD and the nifty tilt and inclinometer gauge on the dash. It was also an oddball in its own way with the larger rear windows.

That car was fun to drive. nimble, quick, roomy for a family of four and it ate the lunch of every other car on the road in the winter. SUV's would only become popular later and AWD cars were still rare.

Anyway, enjoy your Real Trucks ... I'll bow out now.

My brother had one identical to the one in the pic, I can`t remember how many hundred thousand miles he had on it but that thing ran forever.

I already explained that. I googled for comparisons and it took me here. I though the discussion could use the perspective of a Ridgeline owner. I'm sorry I didn't realized some of you can't take a little ribbing. This is a Thread about the Ridgeline is it not? Are you so insular that I needed to be a certified Tacoma owner to have the right to comment here? Are you not sufficiently secure in your truck choice that you have to play in your own echo chamber where one contrary opinion gets you all bent out of shape?

You need to harden up a bit. But I am leaving so your world is safe again.

I loved it. But try as I would I could not teach my wife to drive a stick so two years later I traded it for a Camry. Also a good car.

Not a problem just as with music, food and women we each know what we like and nobody else should care. But I buy a car/truck/boat for how it drives, works and sails. Looks are secondary.

Edit: OK I lied ... I wanted a boat that looked good.
