Hello all. My name is Sean and this is my first post to TacomaWorld. Bought my Tacoma about a year ago. Since then, I've been lurking around on here, reading, studying, learning...and now, I'm ready to start building my truck up (ordered my lift kit yesterday) to be something that's a little more "off-road worthy" as I am tentatively planning a 3 month "live out of my truck" Western States road trip next summer.

Anyhow, just wanted to say "hey" and I look forward to reading/learning more from you all as I start building up my truck.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the welcome! So far all that has been done to it is what the previous owner did.

    - Lifted with blocks and spacers (those are on the way out ASAP)
    - Magnaflow Exhaust
    - TRD wheels (which some see as an upgrade I guess....)
    - Bed shell
    - Tinted windows

I put in a Pioneer Navigation/DVD/Bluetooth radio in it.

I ordered Bilstein 5160 coilovers with 5160 rear shocks and OME Dakar leafs.

The forum seems to be pretty divided as to whether this is a good set-up or not, but I think for the way that I want to use it (access vehicle for mild to moderate off-road) it should be fine.

Before I leave I think I'm going to move my tires up from 32" to 33"...but that is TBD at the moment.

    Thanks!

Yeah, the plan is to head up through Oregon and Washington into southern Canada. Then over to Idaho, Montana, and on down into Wyoming and Colorado. From there it will be Utah and Arizona and then back home through Nevada.

    It's a tall order...but I figure...why not go for it.

Yeah, I just read through your build thread. Your truck looks pretty sweet man. I'm definitely jealous!

Glad to hear you like your lift kit, sounds like I ordered the same thing.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I'm sure I'll have tons of questions come June. I'm off to New Zealand and Fiji for February, but when I come back, it will be full on research and planning mode.

Welcome to TW! Nice Truck. It actually like the cap on the back and I'm not a huge fan of that.

    Thanks.

I wasn't sure about it either, and I almost didn't go to look at it because of it. But, in person, I really liked it and it's come in handy quite a bit since I bought the truck.

Haha...I'd better buy a second one in a different color then. :)
