Its going to be delivered to my home on Monday and I am stoked, been driving an old YJ for years and the repairs each month are as much as a payment so what the heck right?
It has the off road package and looks to be in excellent condition and is very clean and has an outstanding 1 owner Carfax with regular maintenance every 5000 miles from new until now.
Are there things I should look for given the age and miles? I previously owned a 1990 Toyota hilux and that little truck went beyond 400,000 miles so I hope this one does as well. I also have a 2008 Camry that my daughter drives.

Cool! Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the forums.
I'm sure you purchased the truck certified? Which would mean it is 'safe'. The reason I say that is because of the frame recall. That's where I would be looking at given the age and miles. Also since you have the service record, I would refer to that as to what you might want to do; change diff oil, check plugs, etc.

    Cheers

I don't remember anything showing certified? It is a local truck, how bad are the rust issues in Florida? Everything is up to date regarding service except spark plugs and I was going to do them at the 100,000 mile service.

I would imagine the rust issue is a lot less of an issue in Florida. Lol. I'm in Ontario Canada, and the rust issues are a lot more common given winter driving conditions, road salt, etc. I'm sure regulations are different in Florida, than Ontario but here we need to have a vehicle certified before we can license it. For certification it needs to be inspected by a shop and they provide a certificate saying it's safe for the road. Given your truck is an '11 I doubt you will have any rust issues.

thanks! I'll inspect it for rust and anything else I can find when its delivered. I haven't given them the check yet so if it doesn't look or sound right I can refuse although I really am looking forward to it.

The big thing is rust. Check for soft spots on the frame near the cat

Have someone you tryst look the truck over mechanically. Plus drive it the route you would normally drive, and on the highway. Make sure everything works. ie A/C, Cruise Control etc. Once she's yours, so are the problems and repairs.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Congrats on your new to you truck. I did alot of research before I bought my 2010 and from what i read the 2010 and the 2011 are probably the best years to get before the redesign

Look for that paint job to disappoint you soon. But congrats on the truck.

I had someone look at it and that was it, said it sounds good and looked to be in good condition. I have not driven it yet, they are supposed to deliver it to my home tomorrow. I also have not paid for it yet so I can back out.

It did have a couple small dents the dealer didn't see when I asked them to do a walk around to look for dents and scratches.
Dealer is supposed to send me more quality pics tomorrow and a video of a cold start and video of it driving before they leave to deliver it.
I was not initially worried because this one has the best carfax of anything I have looked at in a long time.

Never intended to make you nervous. Just trying to help out. It's always easier for those of us not involved in the vehicle purchase to be skeptical about everything.
When I'm involved in the purchase myself. l always struggle not to get caught up in the excitement.
I hope the truck is in as good a shape as they have stated to you, and that it all works in the end.
