    Stock 2010 TRD OR DCSB

Got this truck after I bought my house when I realized my old vehicle, 2003 Ford Escape was NOT going to cut it in remodeling the house over the next few years.

Eventually want to have a rig set up with Softopper and bed rack and maybe RTT.

So will just pick up parts and things and as weather permits build up over time. Also think having this thread will help me keep track of how much money I spend doing this.

This weekend manage to score; OEM TRD Pro Running Boards, KB Voodoo (at least they look like theirs) Steel Bed Rail Caps, set of Relentless Fab Corner Tie Downs, and Relentless Fab steel tailgate reinforcement ... all for $125!

Definitely will be taking the time to clean them up and refinish if need be, but figured it was a hell of a deal after checking prices.

So got my Caliraised bed stiffeners in. Also was able to score a used OEM bed extender for $50!!

Did like the Total Chaos ones more, but decided since I wanted to be able to have use of a bed extender since I have a DCSB, the Caliraised ones, combined with AMP’s L Bracket mounting kit (Part#: 74601-01A) and the regular mounting kit, would make having a bed extender easier to install. I saw the work around one member did with the Total Chaos ones and that was just more drilling and cutting the extender to fit than I wanted. With the L Brackets they can mount up to the holes already drilled in the stiffeners and the mounting brackets to the bed extender would mount to the L brackets with less fuss ... at least that is what I am shooting for.

Any pics of the OEM bed extender installed with the stiffeners?
I have my bed extender waiting since Xmas and just got some bed stiffeners for bday. Hoping to find a good reference pic.

Scored a used Softopper today, was on a 1st Gen and bed attachment rails were welded to the bed rack. Getting in touch with Softopper now for new bed attachment rails and know I need to get new bed clamps. Eventually will replace front and rear panels since they are worn ... but, for $150 ... pretty good score. Been waiting to get one of these, next chance when weather warms up will hopefully have replacement parts and be able to install!

Finally had the weather warm up enough to start adding all the parts I scored this winter, including a Softopper ... total cost of Softopper with replacement parts, $300!

Changed out headlights and put in TRD Sport ones, was going to do retrofit, but home repairs came up so axed that ... then the virus came along.

Before I started, marked off the bright spots inside garage and used tape to help me adjust lights if I needed to, figured give this method a shot before having to go measure out 25’ and go through all the paces of actually adjusting them per Toyota’s instructions.

Got the old ones out, BIG thanks to @tacomaholic and his videos.

Also added cheap aftermarket grill until I have more time to break the OEM one down and dechrome to do a color match grill. Before and after shots.

Silicone sealant dried enough, at least it LOOKS like a semi professional job.

Did cabin and engine intake screen mod and RTV sealed edges. As silicone dried, brushed on peppermint and cinnamon oil to see if it will infuse with silicone. Peppermint to deter them from going near and cinnamon to deter chewing if it came to that.

Went to visit family and while there, wanted to get this complete 3rd Gen Suspension that I saw on FB Market so I can do the 3rd Gen SWAP on my 2nd Gen. I want to give a HUGE thank you to the folks and fellow MT Taco owners that had this. Gifted to me and made my day. This set was literally taken off a block away from the dealers I think, SUPER CLEAN.

Can’t wait to do the swap and throw in a 1.5” AAL to the leaf pack.
