Just started my first oil change

$33 Fumoto F-103 with LC-10 Included F-Series Engine Oil Drain Valve, 1 Pack

Fumoto F-103 or F-104 for 2nd Gens? Website says "all models" to both.

f-103 os all i see listed for 2nd gen. Standard or S,,N. i would get the one with a nipple, just depends on how long of a nipple.

 

Cool, thanks! F103 says all models after '93, but the Land Cruiser F104 also says "all other models." Saw nothing specific for Tacomas. My skids might prevent the nipple, but I'll definitely get this anyway. Thanks!

 

The S-type is the short nipple if that helps but you want to be able tp slip a hose on it to get below the skid plate.

 

I just did my first oil change on this truck since I was using the "free" ones from Toyota and had the same thing. When I saw how easy the drain plug was to get to I thought I could change it with no spills to clean up.

I went with the oem Toyota filter and Mobile 1. After reading the oil filter comp. on this site I wont use anything else for filters on my truck. One thing that impressed me, and I guess that is due to the factory filter, but it took exactly the 5.5 quarts that the manual calls for. I've never had that happen on any other vehicle I've done oil changes on. To my experience they usually take about a half quart more than called for.

 

I never even wasted my time. I read a lot of horror stories about them messing things up. Plus I wanted to use synthetic so I would've been bringing my own oil anyway. Not worth driving 30 minutes, waiting an hour and driving another 30 minutes back for a "free" oil filter and someone maing $8/hour to pour my oil in for me. I've just done it myself.
