When I seen these wheels about 3 weeks ago, I wanted them no matter what:eek:
I went to Les Schwab & told them I wanted that wheel and put it on a tire that will not rub. They said we will put it on a 285/70/R17 and they said they wont rub, ok I said, order them.
Well they rub, took them back and said these rub BAD! your going to have to fix it. so they hooked me up with 265/70/R17
& they work great, no rubbing at all
Here are some pics. the first 2 pics are 285s the last 2 pics are 265s
    Not much diff

Thank you my friend you just sold me on a set of these!! I was at my local shwabs earlier and we could not decide if it would rub to much with the 265 tires but you just proved us wrong! i love your truck btw, do you have any pics looking down the side of your truck to show how much they stick out?

I'm new to the Tacoma World, and I'm looking at getting a 3" lift and new tires / wheels. What is backspacing? And how does it factor into the tires rubbing?

    Update:
Just to let everyone know, in case you are thinking about buying these wheels.......
I was pulling out of a real tight spot in a parking lot last night and at full turn to the right, they rub, but not full turn left:confused:. my wife jumpped out and looked at it and she said it was hitting a smooth spot on the outside fender, don't even worry about it, it's fine.....& if she's not worried about it, were good;)
she said if I wanted to take care of it, it wouldn't take much to do.

When I left with the new tires from Les Schwab they didn't rub full right or left? but I think I might have been going forward, so I didn't hear it as much, maybe?

    some pics
you can see it just hits. the plastic is hollow, so you could heat it up a bit and deform it easily???

It's that piece hanging down, its hitting on the corner tip and it hits on the other side, I just didn't hear it.

    Money well spent IMO
That's still the only problem but I'm going to follow silvertacoma2011's advice and look at homertacos build and cut them off
Only thing i'm going to do this year is get some Bilstein 5100s & step bars. I want them black and tucked up close to truck (not hanging down too low)
I want to keep the truck all black & white:cool:
