Alright here's what I got. Its a 2009 Tacoma TRD ex-cab with 19,000 miles, automatic transmission and a 6 cylinder.

I need help with my very own blunder. Here's what I've done. While in the process of installing accent light in the passenger door I caused a short with my cheep tester. I needed power that came on with the ignition. Knowing the window did I chose the button power. I took my tester - needle point with AA battery and little light type - and I jabbed what I thought would be the hot, the wire rolled and I not only broke the skin on that wire I also got the one next to it and my finger. In that split second I saw the bulb on my tester flash. I tested for power again through the tares in the insolation, i found none. I tried to roll down the window, nothing. I unplugged the rocker switch and tested straight to the pin, still nothing. so I checked the obvious, but the fuse was still good. I checked all fuses 7.5 and below, both under the dash and hood, they were all good. Not really trusting my cheep tester I tried one of the LEDs at the switch where I nicked the insolation and it worked. So not only is my cheep tester cheep, Its garbage. I got a better tester and there is still 12v at the door.

Now that you know exactly what happened is it possible I did something to the switch even though its only mechanical. Or am I missing something?

Sorry for writing the book but I needed you to know what i've tried.

This may not apply to your vehicle. Its probably not a lot different though.
The integration fuse, gauge fuse, and power fuse are all in the same box under the dashboard
