I am mostly interested in the street price at the dealer. The Toyota.com configurator is pure fantasy. At least in my region the distributor (Gulf States) and the dealers have turned into greedy assholes since 2020.

You cannot configure a truck or 4Runner and expect to order it, and buy it at MSRP. They no longer sell anything at MSRP here. It’s a custom distributor config at SRP.

Waiting to see what dealer shenanigans transpire the next few weeks on the 4th gen.

Well here is one example for you. MSRP but look at those port add ons. And it was so nice of them to give you 4 gallons of gas!

I wonder how much profit is in the $2000 of port additions. I am thinking at least 50%.

2k is on the low side for Gulf States port installed additions. It’s usually north of 5k.

I’m in the Mid West/Cincinnati distribution area, luckily. I live right next to the South East and Central Atlantic areas, too, and have heard the stories.

From what I’ve seen, the only extra fee through my dealership is a $650 dealer fee. They don’t ask for any more than msrp (at least on what I’ve seen recently. The asked over msrp some roughly in the middle of 2022). In peak pandemic market I bought my 2022 from them at msrp.

There “order” process is probably the same as most other dealers, where you put $500 (refundable) deposit down and tell them what you want and if they can’t get you something close enough they’ll give it back.

I’ve already looked into buying a 2024 and they aren’t doing over msrp, but they have very Limted selection because they have a list of people with money down who get priority. They only had two SRs left - white 4wd access cab for $38,500 and a grey DCSB 2wd for $36,800.

Here is a TRD OR DCSB Auto 4wd with leather for what seems to be msrp. Now if you contact them and try buying and they add stuff that’s one thing, but I’m not 100% sure if they will. We’ll see. I haven’t tried to pursue buying one to that level yet. I’ll try and see possibly

That might be, but at least you'll make them work for it. I think this legislation if it goes that far will prevent the bs that happened with the bronco.

Isn't the point that in some regions you cannot get trims without oodles of option packages? The one you posted has more than $7K in options, which is well and good if you intended to add those anyway. Where are the low optioned deliveries? MSRP dealers are not that rare overall, but again, some regions such as South East distribution are notorious for adding expensive packages/options to everything.

I picked that one because it hadn’t been claimed yet and was somewhat similar to the one I had posted earlier, and it was an off road instead of a SR. They had others with less options, but I picked that one instead. From what I’m seeing there are some with only $2,000-$3,000 in options. There is a low option SR with an msrp of $37,874 with the SR Convince package and floor mats and that’s it. I don’t think it gets more base than that. All I was trying to say is 1. You can get msrp and 2. When compared to other trucks in the segment they cost the same within 5-10%

Wow. Total optional equipment: $314. Trucks like this don’t exist around me in the SE. I’d need to add a zero to the end of that, lol.

I like that, stick some heated seats on there and that’d be my factory order
