Why even waste your time addressing the negative nancy 3rd gen owners. You own a PRO, tell them to suck it. Better yet, come over to the 2nd gen forums!

Good point Tyler. I haven't even thought about that tire swap. Maybe going from 270's to 275's did affect mileage a bit. As for the rest of your post, I had the swap done at the dealer so I could get full credit for the stock tires. We get snow here, and I venture into the mtns offroad as well. I wanted a little rougher tire, but nothing crazy. KO2's got good marks in all catagories, so seemed like a good idea. Pleased with them so far (low road noise)

Believe it or not the negative nancy 3rd gen owners aren't near as common as the happy 3rd gen owners, its just the negative owners are quite a bit more vocal. OP, I wasn't pleased with the trucks performance at first as well, then I got use to it. Every vehicle drives different, learn it and enjoy.

9000 miles on mine, best mpg is around 18-20.. if i fill up with a certain amount of gas left,, it will show more,, but its not actual mpg,, its mpg per tank,, cus you just put more into it,, cant believe anyone gets that kind of mpg,,, its deceiving..

I have a friend who bought a new Corvette in the late 60s. Back then logos and emblems had posts and were mounted in through holes with push-on Tinnerman nuts--and that was how the dealer mounted their logo on the trunk. It took a letter from a lawyer but he did get a new trunk lid...

@OP, drive it for a few thousand more miles before your spend money to mod. If the truck still bothers you, get something else. Otherwise, enjoy it and mod away.

I know exactly what you're going through. I had a 2017 TRD OR earlier.

You don't need a lot power at low speeds, are you trying to burn tires off the line at red lights or what. You get plenty of power if you rev higher.

OP...I've had some lower back issues with my seat also...a lumbar works for now...but if you search the forums there is a member (St. Germaine) with a PRO in the North Texas area who took his to an upholstery shop and carved out some of the seat and softened it up...said it works well. I may try a similar mod... when life allows

    none yet/none planned! It's perfect!
Not had a complaint since day one on the seat!

If I want more power I just push farther on the gas or downshift! Do wish it was more responsive.

Best MPG so far is 20.5 for a tank!

Very fun truck to drive and very well built! Came from driving mostly Fords and is better quality!

The biggest surprise is how well it rides for a truck!

If I had to do it over again I just wish I would have bought it sooner!

I agree it's more sluggish than my 2nd gen, but the sunroof and working a/c has long since distracted me and I'm over it ;). We'll see what happens on my first road trip with it. I completely know what you mean though, I feel like you hit it on the 2nd gens, the front end rises, the seas part, and you start moving. Have yet to see this in the new truck, except on higher speeds.

I've never have a problem passing or merging it's more of a problem with the quick left turn from a stop that sucks. I'm ok with it. I just use even more caution in those situations and will usually hit the ECT. I realize I didn't buy a V8 or a sports car

22k on mine. Mpg will improve as the motor breaks in. Its still too tight. I had noticeable increases. I routinely get 19-20 now with a MT

Only complaint I would have was the horrible speakers. Gave me bad ear fatigue. I put in the OEM+ system and have been very happy since

Absolutely zero complaints with mine now.

No, here's the deal. From the street I live on, I pull onto a somewhat busy 4 lane highway. I have to take a left into traffic (no light), so, I find my chance and jump into the center lane, then try to accelerate into left lane in front of upcoming traffic without slowing them down. This is no problem with my Gen 2, but what I miss on the Gen 3 is that immediate throttle response. I don't always feel like its a gearing issue, but just a power/torque issue and the bottom of the powerband.
