So I have a 12 DCLB 4X4 and am tired of driving down hill everywhere I go. Up till now I have only drove it a couple days each month (4 years and only 40,000 miles). Now my line of work has changed and beginning July 18th I'll be driving it every day however I'm not enthused about driving down hill.

So my question is, how much lift on the front to make it sit level, will I need a diff drop with the required amount lift. I've been looking at something along the lines of a 2" spacer lift for the front and as near as I can decipher from these forums is the diff will be okay with only 2" but will 2" be enough.

I'm heading out of the country on the 7th for 10 days and would like to have everything here when I get back so I can get it looking right before commuting 75 miles every day.

Need something like this- You will have to estimate/measure how much lift to bring to level but a general rule of thumb is your lift is about double the spacer thickness when using a top plate- you can see my link below for how this goes together.

    Hope that helps

I've heard that but I'll take my chances at having a tail wind both ways instead of going downhill.
