Justifying URD Headers...experiences?

I just rolled over 110k on my truck and I've decided I'm going to keep it another 100k (or more). In the past I'd considered some power adders but never ended up doing it. Recently though, I've started considering the URD headers located at the following link.
    http://urdusa.com/store/Exhaust-&-H...Tacoma,-4Runner,-FJ-Cruiser/product_info.html

If the dyno results at the link are legit, it seems to be the only set of headers that yield any sizable boost in power across the entire RPM band. Has anyone verified the claimed gains in the real world?

One thing I'm also interested in is the potential fuel savings (emphasis on POTENTIAL) over time. Over a 100k miles, yielding 1mpg avg better actually pays for the headers...2mpg would be even stellar. Has anyone who owns this set seen any fuel savings? I should clarify, anyone with enough self control to keep their foot out of it after adding extra power? :D

For anyone interested enough to have read this far in the post, here's why I'm thinking they might save a little gas in my particular situation. The Tacoma gets about 22-23mpg on the highway when left STOCK. But when you lift it and add larger diameter tires you increase the wind resistance of the truck and essentially make the gearing worse. Thus, today, I get about 17mpg on the highway OR in the city because the engine requires more throttle (and fuel) to keep speed. That being said, highway cruising @ 2500rpm, the URD dyno shows an 8% increase in torque. This is extra power that didn't require more fuel to create; unlike a supercharger. So if the truck creates more torque wouldn't I need less throttle position to maintain speed?

They work very well on @Lucario Runner 's T4R. Less throttle input equals less engine load. The engine has a higher VE, and makes more torque across the band.

Hopefully Lucario chimes in on his experience with the URD headers. I agree with your point about the engine load and efficiency. I had a look at the URD MAF Calibration unit too. Seems like they might make a nice pairing.

Sub'ed. I have been thinking about putting these headers on my '15 I4. Early on in my mileage, so I think it will spread out the cost, but only if there are actual, deliverable results.

I'd love to hear some experiences!

Don't tease the 4 banger guys...they need love too :p

Still hoping people who own a set of these will comment in here. Bonus points for owning the URD MAF tuner.

@Moose1988 , I saw you had these on your truck in another thread. How long have you had them and any change in MPG?

I installed these headers and noticed a little power gain, nothing crazy of course, and a 1 mpg avg gain. I had an aeroturbine 2525 muffler and it was WAY too loud with the headers. I have a borla now and I love the sound. I'm really happy with the URD headers. They are now paired with the URD intake and MAF calibrator (URD calibration file).

So slightly better fuel economy with the headers on their own? That's sort of what I was expecting and happy to hear. What kind of difference did you see with the MAF calibrator?

I'm not sold on any intakes as they don't seem to make much (if any) power and they all seem to leave the filter vulnerable in deeper water situations. I'm strongly considering the intake plenum spacer found here though. I'm not looking for peak power. I'm looking for power/torque down low where I use the truck 99% of the time.

I didn't notice much difference with the intake and calibrator, but definitely the headers. My scan gauge showed a 1 mpg increase. I also have the intake manifold spacer you posted. It seemed to help low end slightly but no change in mpg. I need low end power for the heavy towing I do.

You want noticeable low-end power? Re-gear your truck.

That's definitely something I'm considering when the time comes for lockers....but not yet. And remember, I'm trying not to totally ruin the fuel economy. I'm actually trying to improve it.

Andy, so you currently have the URD Intake, URD Calibrator, plenum spacer, and the URD headers? Have you ever put your truck on the dyno to see what it makes? That's pretty much the EXACT setup I'd want. Just with a sealed intake.
