Its time for me to get a new air filter and was wondering if anyone had k&n air filters on their trucks. Any problems, good reviews, bad reviews, any concerns. i've heard that k&n air filters aren't so good on newer model vehicles. What do you guys think?

Ive had k&n filters on every car and truck that I have owned and they were all great. I am going to give the afe filters a try...

I heard people say they are great for airflow, but suck in filtration. If you go off-roading a lot then I wouldn't recommend it :p

X2. My MAF sensor was covered in a thin oil film after running a K&N for a year. No the filter was sprayed with too much oil.

x2, people were finding fine dust in the intake after the filter. I've got one of the TRD filters and it seems to be doing well but also have only heard great things about the AFE filters (not just the ProDry).

What's wrong with a clean factory replacement filter?

Nothing, I just like the idea of a washable and reusable filter. I figure if I plan on keeping the vehicle for a while, it's a decent investment.
