I personally wouldn't until your warrenty is up... that's just me though

Or at least don't put the sticker on and switch it out whenever you have service done

According to K&N, there are no warranty issues with installing one of there products. So, personal preference here. https://www.knfilters.com/faq.htm#15

What is your goal with the K&N? I had one on my old Accord but haven't convinced myself that it's worth the trouble of cleaning and upfront costs for any other vehicles.

K&N says that but what does Toyota say? Plenty of ppl on TW having issues with warrenty work... do you want to risk it to save .06 on gas??

You must have installed it wrong, butt dynos and filter manufactures everywhere all state oiled filters and CAIs boost power by like 15HP minimum. Sometimes 30+HP.

... I know man. Post was poking fun at the claims that drop in filters=huge HP gains for low cost.

K&N makes a good camping dishwater grey water filter, thats what I used mine for after I took it out of my last truck for good.

On a naturally aspirated engine, a higher flow air filter has essentially no enhancement. Now if you turbo or supercharge..... then yes, it can make a true difference.

I had a k&n filter in my 06 tacoma, all the oil soaked in to secondary filter element built into the filter cover the first time it was installed. I didnt notice any difference, not puting one in my 2017 tacoma. Just me.

Oiled filters have been shown to be a waste of money for 3rd gen Tacos and require more work to maintain. In addition, over-oiling them can contaminate your MAF sensor creating drivability issues. Even in cars that I have that don't use a MAF, I use factory paper filters.
