Hey I am wanting to put a K&N air-intake on my truck. I was watching videos on how to install one and I noticed that I had something that the trucks in the videos didn't have, and I don't know what it is

I had a 77-9037KP on my 2012 4.0, after relocating the air pump it sucked in moisture from a heavy rain (a lot of road spray being kicked up) and killed my switching valves. $1400 to fix, thank goodness for a secondary warranty.

Here's another chime. Do a search on the topic. Maybe use a term like 'cold air intake'

Depending on what your expectations are from this mod, you may chose to keep your money.

The K&N kit moves the air pump to the front of the engine, and also turns it backwards. Not sure if a UNI-filter would help keep water out or not.
