This is a poor effort from K & N, being a regular customer of their products for my cars, i have to admit im deeply dissapointed with their offering for the 2.7 tacoma.

First pipe they sent me had a warped MAF sensor mounting area, where one corner dipped off so aggressively, the gasket they sent (with only 2 screws on opposite corners instead of 4 ???) wasnt able to properly seal, sending a check engine light my way.

Second pipe they sent had the SAME problem, just not as aggresive... Additionally I notcied that the screws that attach the MAF sensor K & Ns bracket were way to long, which meant that it forced the whole assembly up on the screws, consequently not applying pressure to the gasket... still a check engine light appeared... I eventually gave K & N the finger, busted out my dremmel and shaved off 1/4 inch off the screws, and then used silicone caulk to form my own gasket around the MAF port hole.

    Problem solved.

I personally do not like K&N, I like AFE products much better!

i have to say the intake itself has been great for me i do notice going up hills and things like that i no longer have to gear down as often and the truck does pick up a bit better but around 3500 RPM's the truck just becomes way too loud for my taste. lol

I do not however have the same issues with my intake as the OP
