You already have a Cold Air Intake from the factory. Don't waste you're money on a noise maker. That will be the only gains you make.

I understand that but various reviews of the add on intakes show slight improvement with throttle response, mpg gain, as well as sound quality. Who doesn't like that? especially for a mere 200-250$? Cheap upgrade IMO

You will not get ANYTHING other than sound. All advertisements vary between "clever marketing" and outright lies. Get it for the sound if that's what you want. If you want any sort of performance, don't waste your money.

Awesome, interested to hear the results. Even if just for sound alone...cheaper than a whole new exhaust

Perfectly said but whatever people want to waste money on, it is what it is.

I put this one on my '17 about 9 months ago:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IB1HH46/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Install took less than an hour, very straight forward. Nice clean install, no issues. I won't even begin to say if there's any performance improvement, but personally, I'm very pleased with it. I also had one on my '15 that I enjoyed as well.

You will definitely notice the new sound though when you mash the pedal ha...

Be careful with oiled filters. They can coat Mass Air Flow elements and foul up air/fuel ratios.

Would be nice if someone just came up with a replacement pipe from the stock filter box to the throttle body that eliminated the resonator so we could get the louder intake sound without replacing the entire intake. just my $.02

I would like to see dyno results from an independent shop... The TRD intake is insanely over priced. There's basically no difference over the stock set-up. But, too each their own.

I decided to get one, not for performance but to keep shit out of my airbox. Once I went 35's I had to pull the liners so everything was getting scooped up in the airbox. So I did this

I got the one you posted, after a year of owning it I’d recommend the version that is a straight pipe from the throttle body to the factory air box here: https://a.co/d/5D8nnfr. I bought it for the sound, but I think I sacrificed durability by losing the factory air box.

The aluminum piping will give you more noise. The polymer piping is sleaker and quieter.

the aluminum will also yield better flow and potentially more theoretical power

I have the performance series the shiny aluminum one with the Blackhawk synthetic dry filter with additional filter sock on.

    The uncommon "hotter air intake".

I have the afe with the dynamic scoop in a box on a shelf and it's junk . Intake temps are not good enough to justify the engine is getting cooler air. I worked with kdmax developers @PapaRee and we concluded that the k&n gets better air flow than the afe true cold air intake also with the additional air scoop . It was a learning lesson for sure .

I have a snorkel with a precleaner, I'm the opposite side of the "performance Cai" crowd.
