The instructions and installation on this kit were great. I haven't been able to test out the performance much as of yet. However, what little I have done, has impressed me; especially in the 3k+ rpm range"

I know the R&D guys spend a ton of time trying to squeeze every bit of performance and fuel efficiency to meet government regulations. Shoot, 3rd gen is running 0 weight oil like a hybrid car now. So is there any merit to this kit, or is it 250 bucks for louder vrooms?

I should add that I'm asking specifically regarding the new 3rd gens. I know this has been beaten to death by 2nd gens.

Nothing changes on the 3rd Gen. Your stock intake flows way more than the engine needs. Your stock intake is already a cold air intake. Aftermarket is just for looks and noise.

If that's your thing than so be it.

Thats kinda what I was thinking. I know that the 3rd gens aren't a huge leap from the 2nds. Shoot, the only reason they look taller is cus they raised the hood and windows.

That engine is still just an air pump like it has been for many many years.

Re-route the stock intake into your truck's cab, blast the AC while driving and boom....a true redneck CAI :D

Looks like being open to engine bay heat would defeat the purpose because the stock CAI pulls air from out side the engine bay there for its is a lot cooler just my opinion

for true cold air induction reroute the intake so you're picking air from the cowl

Have any gen 3s on here had issues with cruise control and traction control not working after install? I installed this intake last night and both of those controls fail to work now.
