The Mud Hog's look very similar to Duratracs and the Trail Hog's look like the older-style Goodyear MT/R's. I wouldn't buy them because it looks like Kanati quite obviously took a popular tread pattern, tweaked it slightly, and called it their own.

But, I feel the same way about General Grabber AT2's. Complete rip-off of BFG KO's. I'll never even consider them when buying tires for that reason.

Kal Tire sells a Muteki Trail Hog and Mud Hog. They look exactly like the kanati tires. I wonder how many other brands they are under? I run the mud hog as my off road tire. So far no complaints. I'm having them siped before a trail run coming up. They aren't so good on the ice and hardpack snow. (To be expected for an M/T.)

Okay cool thanks. I'm looking for new tires to put on my taco so it'll probably be the BFG A/T's

ive seen these tires sold under multiple names (always trail hog or mud hog but the brand name is different) kanati, muteki, I think ive seen them sold as centennial.. they are only available 10ply and are very very heavy and stiff (take a look at the tire in the bead area there very thick). ive heard they are designed more for commercial/oilfield type use on 3/4 and one ton trucks. probably to stiff for use on a tacoma

My Mudhogs are 6ply (c rated)

To the OP, if you go with the BFG A/Ts get the newer version KO2. Much better than the previous Gen.

You must own an i-phone am I right? Since the other smart phone companies obviously ripped off the i-phone and you won't own anything that isn't "original"...

There is only so much you can do in a limited space in terms of design and effectiveness. General took a descent tire design and made it better, where is the problem? How many mud tires look eerily similar? Are those rip-offs too?

    Tyler,

I do own an iPhone. Because, like Goodyear and BFGoodrich, Apple did their research and created an excellent product. I realize there is only so much you can do to make a product your own. But, there is a difference between designing a product similar to others, and taking a successful product already on the market, altering it slightly, and calling it your own. Look at these pictures and tell me that isn't exactly what happened here.

What kind of tires to do you run? General Grabber's?

To most yes the two tire brands look similar, but if you look closely there two different style tread patterns and sipes, not to mention two different rubber compounds,... One did not just copy the other lots of research and development went into the kanati tire I'm sure...

I'm looking at some kanati mud hogs in 33-12.50-17. Anyone run these that can comment on how bad the road noise is?

I've got 265/75R16, they're noisy, most MTs are.

Hey guys. just recently got the trail hogs, from Kal tire. I've gone back three times because I've had two bad/outa round tires. feeling vibration in my seat, a friend check the balancing and my rims are fine. they put two different tires on and I'm still feeling vibration, anyone else have trouble with these tires being shit? thanks alot, I've been back three times and they said the spun them all and they are fine. so either they put a new tires on an just add weight to the previous weight (so there's alot extra) or I've gotten a bunch of bad ones.

Try having them balanced at another location. (It's free) Some stores use different machines than others. You've also got 30 days from purchase to return for store credit. I'd take BFG KO2s over the trail hog. Just my 2 cents. I like my Mudhogs for off road but that's the only time I use them. Traveling to and from the trails they are fine.

They're literally Goodyear knockoffs. Wouldn't be surprised that they're shit.
