I think it's pretty amazing how much area those caves actually cover.

Wow, I had no idea that there were more levels than the initial mines. That's pretty freaking amazing.

 

Yeah, most of what people refer to as "the caves" around here are in the Bethany Falls limestone. Around downtown it's roughly at ground level to 80' below. It dips heading north, so at the south end of town they quarry it on the surface, up by MCI it's about 300' below.

Another mine I work at is in the Saint Louis formation, roughly 800ish feet deep. This one is 1300 feet down in the Cooper-Callaway limestone

 

Jeez... this just confirms my speculation that Kansas City is the best location for surviving a giant volcano. Or zombie whitetail deer.

Yeah, seems to be a thing in this line of work. Last week I had to be up around 3:30am Mon, Wed, Fri.

And because my brain is dumb, watch me still be awake stupid late tonight/tomorrow morning.

Just woke up an hour and a half late from a cat nap. I'm upset, I woke up at 5, felt legitimately somewhat energized and hit the snooze one more time, then had a long ass dream you could hear my alarm in for fucking ever, by the time I woke up my alarm had given up lmao

truck is parked because broken stuff and the car is awful in any kind of snow and ice so it wont see any of that stuff it will sit

 

I avoid it too, but I've gotta train our new employee at work tomorrow, and I have high hopes it'll melt the second it hits the road. I don't think the Corolla is ideal for snow, but I think it is I who could improve my driving in icy conditions. I do good enough to keep myself out of accidents, but I wig myself out on ice pretty bad, lol.
