I'd obviously have a baller smoking jacket to go along with my collection of briar and walnut burl pipes.

    Indubitably veritable, good chaps.

I lived out of a bag for a long time too, although I probably got shot at less and definitely didn't get paid for it.

Do a few 45-60 day stints in the field living out of your duffle with no shower or laundry and you will appreciate being able to unpack.

It gets old living out of one. That's why I unpack first thing. Just one of those things where you do it for so long that you tell yourself you wont do it anymore.

Not exactly comparable, but I've been living out of a suitcase a few days a week for almost a decade. Just not worth it to me to unpack in a hotel, and as previously stated my life is a pile
    I have a couple

Does putting a plastic bag next to your duffle bag for dirty clothes when you arrive count?

Packing for a months trip in Wisconsin and a month and a half trip in Oklahoma all in one bag was a bitch. The one time I set up shop at my mom's place over the summer, taking all that shit down was just depressing for her.
So I just kept to unpacking all over the entire floor.
These days, if I'm driving, I'm a big fan of plastic totes. Much more organized.

However, I blame living out of a suitcase for my lust to buy a house so early in life. So over moving.

My grandfather used to smoke a pipe. Brings back so many memories when I smell one. You bring the pipes and I'll bring the cigars.

    I try on occasion

These were my dad's. I tried them for a bit years ago then switched to cigars for the occasional smoke. Been wanting to give them another shot lately, just need to pick up some tobacco.

Those are beautiful! I only have two in my collection, but my dad has always kept an amazing menagerie of pipes, liquors, steins, books, and weapons. It's probably an inherited genetic trait though.
No grocery bag for me. I have always used a mesh ditty sack.

I was homeless for almost two years. Not quite the same, but I appreciate having all of my things in the places I expect them to be... and not having to pull every single damned thing out of the bag to get to the bottom. I promise not to be homeless anymore if I can help it. Being homeless is really inconvenient.

New here - putting in two cents. Backpacked full time as a teenager and any chance I get to not rifle through a bag I take it. Everything has its place....whether that's in the truck, home, hotel or camp. Bags are for backpacking or flights.

For me it depends more on what’s inside and how it’s organized. I can be equally frustrated by a box or a bag if I don’t pack right.

For sure. It's so annoying to waste time finding crap. Funny I say that, because I lose my sunglasses, keys, and phone on the daily!
