The only way I lend out tools is if I go with it, watch, then bring it back home. Otherwise they disappear.

I like how this guy is being real and is actually committed to fixing it. Such an interesting problem with that jungle humidity. I never had sludge like that in my XJ when I lived on Maui, but it wasn't exactly tropical jungle either.

True dedication.

My YJ develops a slight lifter tick at roughly the oil change interval. Typical practice is to add a quart of ATF for about 200-300 miles, then change the oil. Seems to do the trick, and last time I had the pan/valve cover off it was still remarkably pristine for >200K miles.

Didn't know you lived out there for a while. Granted, you may have told me and it just didn't stick...
