No one "chops" leaf packs. They might break them down/apart to get extra leaves out lol.

I'm just sharing what I've read. When putting them between leaves they weren't cut, when they were put at the bottom they were cut progressively smaller than the one above.

You could chop them to forge knives or swords

Donate your used leaves to a local blacksmith and they'll make some cool knives and axe heads etc for them. It's not quite S7 tool steel but it is pretty tough stuff

That makes sense. I have done what is affectionately called the "bastard pack" twice with XJs in the past. The exception being that the donor springs came from an S-10 and they were installed just under the XJ main leaf.

The bastard pack only works because the S-10 is SUA and the XJ is SOA, giving the S-10 leaf significantly more curve. I think you'd at least get the lift of whatever the thickness of the leaf is. I wonder how that affects the spring rate though. Maybe you could try anyway and let us know for science  I'd donate my time to that.

If getting the replacement pack with the AAL doesn't happen I'll certainly be willing to try it and invite you and your time to join me.

I'm sorry I originally misread Slashaar's original post and didn't realize that that you had them. Thank you very much as well!

Depending on where you are, I might actually be able to help deliver them as well. Send me a private message (I think this site calls them conversations) if you need help and I can coordinate with @Sociopenguin

I just figured I'd make a run up there and see the 2FE gang. I'll be doing my joints this weekend so I'll probably want to do them after running up since I won't be able to get in for an alignment till Monday.

Windshield rust is being treated, and I haven't seen another drop out of the Exxon Val-Dana 44. I'm pretty much ready whenever, schedule permitting.
