I still think the Itasha style is where you'll really want to land. I'm obviously leaving out the morally questionable ones.

Big Bend area of Texas, does look a lot like Wyoming.

    It was so quiet.

There are so few trees out in that area. I imagine this time of year is really nice.

Yeah the weather in the summer is just way too hot, but in the fall its quite nice. Definitely was the busy period, I had a fun time getting reservations. But I managed to get in the backcountry pretty deep so there was nooooobody.

Very few trees, really only where there is consistent water sources.

Backpack or truck camp? I've never been to BB, but if there is decent backcountry for either type of camping, I might start planning a route.

You can do either in the national park. They have backcountry routes specifically for each one. I've done a bunch of backpacking around the South Rim and the Chisos Basin area in the past with groups, so this time I did the Old Ore Road in the taco. Not a difficult road, but pretty and I didn't see another human for over 24 hours.

Theres some cool history there as well - fossils, mining, etc.

Big Bend Ranch state park is a place i spent time at too, it’s relatively undeveloped, spent a lot of time in 4lo, not much in the way of backpacking trails and very very quiet overall.

    Old ore road:
