Ive seen a few groups from the KC Toyota Club on FB go to KS Rocks and plan camping trips. I've been wanting to go but life happened the last few times they went. Of course these groups are a ragtag of Tacos, 4Runners and FJs.

When I get to work, I may push the bumper/gate to the backburner and focus on the tailgate reinforcement. I think that would be a hot seller if it turns out the way I intend. Really depends on the dimensioning of the tailgates themselves. 3rd gens have thicker tailgates and I think it would work better with more room inside to work with. I may bring a tape measure to the meet and hover around your trucks @Sociopenguin @RC84 :D

That's cool. The 3rd gen tailgates bow out, which from what i have read can make swingouts a bit more problematic.
A well made tailgate reinforcement, I'd be down since i have been planning on getting one anyway, our german shepherd is hell on it
getting in and out of the back.

Left them a message. No idea if they even do reservations. Hopefully not going to cost anything.

I would love to, I wouldn't be able to host since I live in an apartment currently with no garage, or hardly even any parking :/

Its starting to take off

    Edit: its gone!

Also, I finished my first prototype bumper design. Just need to find factory frame mounting locations to add in the 1/4" mounts and the recovery points!
In theory it should all fit. I'll need to take some more measurements of the truck to be 100% sure. I may recess the receiver hitch/license plate location so that the license plate sits flush. I may also change the reciever hitch plate thickness to better support load, as right now I'm not sure what the tensile strength of 3/16" steel is, and I'm wondering if its going to rip right out. Its gussetted on the inside so we'll see. need to adjust its overall length on the backside of the reciever as well.

No pics this time. :D Can't show my whole hand!

Edit 2: I will say that as it is now, I'm only sitting at 72lbs for the whole bumper. That's pretty decent, but once the 1/4" mounts and the recovery points are added it may be a bit closer to 110-150.

I'm a maybe, it's approx 1 1/2 hr drive one way so I have that contend with on top of my crazy work schedule. I'm not really doing off road stuff with my truck. It's my DD and toy hauler for the family camper.

The KB Voodoo stuff seems to be pretty good stuff. I was really considering it for a bed rack but didn''t like that the long bed rack will fit in a short bed.

Also wanted a KB bedrack but i cant justify $500 for a rack. :/

Went to longview lake today just to look. Shalter one is gated off, couldnt even drive in? I left parks and rec a message so ill hear from them in the morning. Its between shelter 1 and 13. Both seem to have a nice view and room to expand should we somehow, doubtful, get more than the lot holds. Last I checked though, the fb event says 10 going, 9 maybes. So who knows :D

Alright. First off, this is cheasy bedside spare mount attempt #1. I have a more intricate design, but im trying an easy one first. All i had on hand was a piece of 1/8 steel, 3/16 would be better. Less sway...
