Another question. Does anybody ever wish they had a long bed? Like if you are moving houses or picking something up, has the short bed ever prohibited you? My guess is no. I'm deciding between AC and DCSB. My fiancé wants a double cab for when we have kids at some point. Right now we just carry around 2 small dogs. I like the lighter weight and utilitarianism of the AC model. I'm tired of owning SUV's and impractical cars, I want a TRUCK with a BED haha.

I really need to get hands on and test drive some trucks or do a side by side comparison.

A double cab long bed is a viable option if you do not do city parking constantly. They're actually pretty good trail rinks too you just have to be aware of your length.

I think they look too long and prefer how the other models look. Also I will probably be doing some mild trails/camping but I agree, its probably the most useful variant and I could definitely make it work.

In that case you have to ask yourself, how often do you need the full size bed versus the slightly shorter one?

I got a sport access cab back in 2018 and I use the crap out of that bed however, now that I've got a little one, I went and found a used off-road 17 DCSB. That short bed is still incredibly useful but having the full back seat is also incredibly useful. And there's a good amount of storage behind/under those back seats.

Nope. Anything that’s too big for the short bed goes on a trailer

I’ve also hauled a lot of stuff with the tailgate down - fridges, couches, etc. never been a problem

having the extra space in the cab is nice.. I don’t have seats though, I took those out and have a goose gear seat delete

No want, because I have. If anything I use up a foot or so with just toolbox, or my traction board/spare tire sandwich so the extra foot is a blessing.

Hey, I parallel park this thing just fine in downtown Lee's Summit!

The long bed isn't too terrible; ever seen a long bed Tundra? Those are no joke, haha. It's an extra foot from the reg, it's definitely nice to have, but I can't imagine it being an absolute game changer unless you're hauling a looooooot of stuff. Long bed is nice if you want to store things in your bed like toolboxes etc. I can't imagine how cramped our bed would've been if it was short with a toolbox

Side effects of owning a long bed may include but are not limited to parking the front any vehicle perpendicular to the edge of the parking space, often leaving an unreasonable amount of space behind you.

i don’t know why you’d need this, but a 8.1 foot double cab is possible with the new tundra

That break over angle would be a problem. I’ve drug the belly of mine.. which is a short box lol

And the turning radius is probably awesome

He didn't even need to miss work as far as I'm concerned. Medical could've gave him light duty and he coulda done training or paperwork. :notsure:
