If you look closely there's a hole on cylinder 1s valve. It was the reason for low compression on cylinder 1.

Heyo! That's not a cracked cylinder wall!

    Congrats?

Edit: I see it now! It looks like the low side of the valve, did the piston look okay?

Yup pistons looked great along with everything else. There were no other issues but the valves.

Was suggested by my mechanic that chain guides be done since the head was off along with head and valve cover gaskets. Thinking of anything else I should do since it's off.

Sounds like your guy knows what's up, I can't think of anything to add unless you were looking to do a full top end rebuild :spending:

Maybe hit up the 2TR-FE perfomance thread and ask there or just post up in the 4cyl section. I haven't had to do anything that deep into mine yet, so I don't have anything I can recommend from personal experience.

He doesn't need to pull the valves for that lol

Plus, the turbo options for the 2TR-FE are mostly hodgepodge parts and use the Alibaba turbo manifold.

The SC kits are legit and come with a tune, which is important because 2nd gen 4cyl tunes are basically a non-starter for anybody that has the capability.

Listen, if I thought it was worth the effort, I'd endorse it. Everything I've heard about turbo 2TR-FEs is great except that you are basically on your own trying to make something work.

SC kits are already out there.

I'd do unmentionable things to find somebody to tune my single VVT 4cyl.

An SC would be amazing. URD was selling a kit but man you gotta pay big bucks to play. Haven't seen the kit in stock in a while. Ship may have sailed. Maybe if a used one pops up that'll be the time to buy.

You can piece together almost the entire kit, the only two things you'd need to find a solution for is the mounting plate and the tune.

I have never completely dismissed supercharging DP.........but I'd rather do a 2uz swap out of a LC100....then SC.

I was gonna suggest the 2* retard cam gears, but alas you are a 4cyl.
