As much as the county seems to try to tax people into moving away.....I think I'll keep the property for now.

 

Ford and GM have been talking for a year about pulling dealership licenses from places that do insane markups. So far they've done nothing.

Toyota actually sent out a thing to dealerships within their various regional networks saying if they are caught adding dealership markups they will be fined and have their inventory pulled. They will not be allowed new allocations. Which basically means they'll lose their status as a Toyota dealer. Any dealership add-ons have to be approved by Toyota now whether it's excessive warranties or extra protection packages, etc. Dealerships are being given quite a bit of leeway with being creative. However, Toyota have warned them pretty explicitly to not price gouge.

Nissan..... Is a mess.

Honda and Subaru are building so few vehicles. I don't know that those companies are functionally existent at the moment.

 

That's just addressing markups. MSRP alone hurts anymore

Being at a honda dealer, i can say that just about every honda that is built/being built is sold before it even arrives. Mrs2Fang just confirmed we have 3 unsold new vehicles at this time.

My grandpa's been on a waiting list at three different Honda dealers for a pilot. Which haven't even been in production for quite a while. One dealer called him and said they had two finally ship from Kansas City, apparently the Kansas City distribution center has quite a few Honda vehicles but no drivers to bring them anywhere.

Anyway, he didn't want the fully tricked out limited platinum double plus edition so he took the other pilot which has everything but a DVD player in it. Super nice vehicle.

 

ya its a shame that ford hasnt done what they promised... my dealer will keep the vehicles pretty low at msrp if you order it but man if nobody ordered it they mark it up sadly..... its basically you have to order one now or grab it as its being built to get a good deal on a vehicle now..

 

Doesn't have to be mid MO, just feel like there isn't really a market there. Somewhere in mid mo and maybe some of the STL crew would be compelled to join too.

Either way, talk about other parks has been cool, but we really do want to go somewhere, even if it's just another person or two. KRRP checks a lot of boxes because it's just easy to make a plan for.

 

I was just trying to find a middle ground so we could all meet up with as little travel as possible. But if you wanna come to KRocks that bad...

 

Why tho?
This state has a low cost of living compared to everywhere around us, less restrictive legislation, etc. There's some really pretty areas of MO. Not sure what you're looking for.
Only states I'd consider are ones with no personal property or income taxes.

 

Yeah but they get their money in other ways.

For example in Illinois, no personal property taxes.... $160 vehicle registration. Every. Single. Year.
