Was gonna use the truck to tow my dads trailer today to help a buddy out but his trailer brakes for some reason activated on the highway? So I then had to pull over and swap to his truck…


My truck doesn’t have a brake system controller yet but since it doesn’t it shouldn’t activate? But his did for some reason idk it was odd



I also wound up with a free all pro ifs skid plate

 

Every few months I run the numbers by a few decent dealers around here. Best offer. I've gotten on the silver truck so far was 29k... If I traded it against a new or certified Titan. Outride by out was 25 from them... Nowhere near enough.

Yuuup it’s just sitting dad and mom are talking about doing something with it… so I prob won’t ever get it now. Plus my sister has taken interest in it so ya that dream is dead for me lol

Idk my truck shouldn’t have it since I can’t find one anywhere in the cabin? Dad said his trailer is heavy but not over 4k lbs so I should have towed it fine? That van and car dolly I towed the other day was 4300lbs and it didn’t skip a beat.

 

Is the trailer well maintained? Are the brakes adjusted? Are the axles freshly greased?

 

So my buddy at work is looking to sell his '04 diesel 1500 Silverado with 248k and no known issues. I think he wants $12k.

Down here is diesel truck country, so I can keep asking around if y'all are looking for tow rigs.

 

I've had my eye out for a TW200. Maybe underpowered, but I'm no highway rider

Yeah, standard diesel engine for the time, just unconventional. I thought GM had limited the diesel to 2500 and heavier after the early 90s, but I guess not.

Friend of mine at college had a late 80s 1500 2wd single cab with a 6.2 diesel. They're out there, just very uncommon.

 

I had one of those. 1984, 4 SPD. Absolute beast.

 

he either swapped the motors or badges because there is no 1500 6.6 durmax they just recently started putting a baby durmax in after 2019.
in 2004 the 1500s only had the
4.3 v6, 5.3 v8,5.8 v8, and the 6.0 v8.

tbh tw200s suck... they are slow and way to slow for the road... find any type of 250 or a older drz400 and run that. ive ridden the tw200 its just slow and gutless

 

ive never heard of a 1500 durmax until recently the 6.6 was in only the 2500 and up.
