are there any known garages in KC area that might rent out a lift in a heated setup that would allow me to work underneath my truck safely

Bellevue NE has a DIY garage with $40/ hour lift rental rate but the proprietor refuses to let me blast under my truck and de-weather it
i have much to do and was liking to get this done before they start spreading the winter chemicals here but the temps are not favourable for the primer and paint
+ the slow go of it all being underneath on my shoulder for hours on end with the one man army is very taxing and mildly dangerous

I have an electric compressor that I've been running in my garage this fall, its kinda big, got it from HF

It is Project: Save a mid west Taco
involves removing all the defective paint under my truck where chemicals have seeped through the bad paint and putting a more durable coating on it as best I can

After having my truck for two years, paying it off, and figuring out what I like and don't like, I'm contemplating a few changes: 3rd gen RC62F 6MT, FJ transfer case, standard rear axle with a Detroit TruTrac rather than the e-locker rear.

    - New transmission has better gear splits, better overdrive, and (on paper) will overall improve the drivability and extend the range per tank (2k rpm at 75mph vs 2600 currently makes a big difference) with only a slight loss in first gear (going from 4.17 to 3.98). Input/output/bolt pattern should be the same. Not sure what will need to be adjusted with the cross member. New case is 1.7" longer, which will likely affect the driveshafts. Anyone know of anyone who has done this swap? Nothing came up on my admittedly limited search.

    - FJ t-case to switch to manual selection. Probably won't twin stick, but that's an option for the future.

    - Rear axle with TruTrac is a combo I've had a lot of experience with and overall prefer over the locker. Fairly simply swap, too - particularly if I can find someone to trade axles with.

Nothing is happening quickly, but this is the direction I think it will go. Still have to do more research in general and obtain parts. just wanted to share in general. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I've had a rear TruTrac in my Jeep for almost a decade. I like how it behaves on and off pavement. For the things I do, I've only had to engage the front ARB a handful of times; the TruTrac eats up everything else.

I’d take anything and I’d paint it, really. But prefer black.

I can't of think many 3rd gen sports in our area off the top of my head...

Nothing OEM style for a 17 on Carid either... A few hoods with scoops around $450 unpainted, that's about it.

$450 is for a fiberglass hood; the only vented hood that was metal was 700-1,200.
