Hey, new here and just picked up an 09 DCSB TRD OR as a 3rd vehicle. My daily is a lifted 5th gen 4runner. Looking forward to modding the taco as soon as it warms up! I’m in Overland Park and in the KC Toyota Club if anyone here is part of that as well.

I would say 90% of us do not use the KCTC group anymore.

    Welcome to TW!

Anyone driving in the morning be careful the roads are slick but it’s not ice it’s slush so it’s kinda odd.
I jumped a small curb in blue springs going 10mph and slowing Down but going down hill the truck said nope we gonna keep going.
All just for some tbell haha

We bought the Taco for my wife to drive on bad weather days because her 340i is rwd and around 400whp with an open diff and sits low enough to where it can't make it out of the driveway after the streets are plowed. She seems to enjoy the truck too much so I never get to drive it. I feel your pain

I was supposed to buy a 1st gen as my first vehicle while I was in high school for 2k... Then my Stepsister's husband found out what they were worth and retracted his offer to sell it to me. Dude was selling it because his parents were giving him a Tundra for free.

    Taco envy

The rolla does okay in the winter. It'd probably do better if I didn't run my GTs all year round, but at the moment there isn't much I need to leave the house for. Last year I almost ended up in a pileup on 71 but I just got my rear bumper kissed by a Nissan and narrowly escaped the other cars crashed on the side. No way in hell I was gonna stop for that. Beyond that and not being able to get out of a steep driveway where we used to live after an ice storm, I don't really have any issues. I always worry about hills though; I am light so I feel like lights and hills would get me stuck pretty easy. So if I have a doctor's appointment or something, I'll usually just make @Slashaar take the day off.
Cool thing about MO is people here suck so much at driving in the winter, the roads get cleared really fast. All you have to do is prep for the icy night really and you're home free.

I am always paranoid about other people around me not stopping in time. My 5th gen does great on 285 wildpeaks in most weather conditions. Need to put the same tire on the Taco.
And this ones just a ton of fun, but not great unless its warm and dry, otherwise the rear end will step out easily. No photo's of the Taco yet, had it about 2 months, but it's a bone stock 09 Barcelona Red that just had the frame replaced and new steering rack installed at the same time a few months prior to me purchasing it from the original owner with a stack of every single maintenance record and a perfect interior.

That would be a great gun for me to get. I shoot my 22 pistol a lot before qualifying, the shooting principals are the same and much cheaper.
