just do a drain and fill of the trans. its easy, you just need a paperclip to put it in temp check mode.

 

On 2nd gens? I guess I need to research more.

 

yep. did it on my dads 2010.

basically you do a drain. it drains 3 qt or so
then you overfill it
jump 2 pins in the ODB connector
warm up the trans til the lights do a thing
open the overflow plug
close overflow when its down to a trickle.

 

Mine is a 3rd Gen. Youtube Videos? I hate to screw anything up as it is my only driver.

Yep, good thing you only have to do it every 60k or longer if it's still red.

 

to bad ive never done it...... when i bought it i was told it was a sealed system and to leave it alone

back when i asked i didnt really wheel the truck all that hard at all so they told me not to worry about it so i didnt lol

i will eventually take it to them and have them do it im not gonna mess with it lol

 

depends on how dented/bent the armor is haha
