It looks like you've already been in the POR-15 "I did it myself" thread. You're limited to that extensive method or annual/semi-annual Fluid Film or similar application.

There are different chemicals available, but those two methods are what they all use to do it properly.

I'm not an expert, but this follows the aftermarket vehicle modifications equation: DESIRED EFFECT (speed, off road capabilities, durability etc) = TIME + MONEY. You can spend more time doing it yourself, or pay somebody to do it. There aren't really many exceptions to this.

I am not using POR-15 on anything here, looked into it quite a bit and did not see how it would apply properly in my situation with any lasting results

and i honestly could not find anybody 'read pro' locally here up north (checked about 7 places) Nobody had a single clue of what to do or what is going on, including the Toyota experts questioned... it left me utterly frustrated

the last 'pro quote' i got was approx $10k and that is a big wow what the heck

If it makes a difference to you, the Eastwood stuff is an oxide encapsulating phenolic resin with a zinc component and Fluid Film is lanolin based. Depending on the amount of corrosion, might be able to do an Eastwood treatment and then regular treatments with FF. Just my $0.02.

i am not confident of using the Eastwood internal frame coating with the minimal amount of corrosion i may be finding inside my old trucks frame (i was shocked at the first camera pic i retrieved), just a possible TON of loose factory coating chips that will be plugging the drain holes eventually, some already have but the magnet got them out
intending on calling the tech support line there at Eastwood to see what other products they may have to do the job right if this stuff will not stick to bare metal for a long period of time, i do not want to go through this hassle ever again

You could also just spray a metric f*ton of FF in there... ya know, spray and pray. That's what I would be doing if I had your truck... :anonymous:

that is a future endeavor, i just bot 5 more FF rattle cans on 'sale'
i need to check the rear shock mounts though, a 1st gen (2oo4) in Minnesota just had one bust clean off of his frame, a frame that Toyota had certified as good a couple years ago from the protective coating they applied to it
    its total bunk
