@robkc is thinking about going too. There's a couple of people interested. I know of two people with 4runners from the FB group who are thinking about it too.

 

I meant in terms of company on the trip there/back and camping.

correction apparently all 2.7s have it. the 4.0 is 12+

 

The secondary injection pump. Seems to be a hit or miss problem. A few have reported the factory filter disintegrates and creates a lot more issues itself. I did the mod, cheap figured why not. Here's just one recent post on the issue below. Crazy expensive.

Update on the secondary injection pump. I added the air filter breather mod and took out the black spongey looking filter inside the pump out. Preventive measure.

 

I don't think I even saw what you were selling, but I'm broke as a joke anyway. lol

 

Do it man....I'd grab the carrier but id never get it the way I'm after....

So Coverking is pretty legit? Wetokole for the whole truck is almost 600. Don't think he is in that price range.

 

Coworker of mine used to sell them at a previous job. Said they were pretty good quality, I'm kinda in the same boat.
Not really wanting to spend that much, and with a discount I'd give them a whirl....

Was looking at the skidplate forums, and someone made the point that you should buy from the closest company since skids are pretty much the same across the board. Looks like Armor Tech Offroad is the closest, in Platteville, WI. Or atleast that I've found. Doesn't appear they do any other gen (1st or 3rd), although they might fit 3rd gens, no idea. The next closest is RCI Offroad in Colorado, but for a full set of theirs it's $2200 (with rear diff and tank straps).

Just thought I'd pass this along. I won't be buying anytime soon, unless I win the lottery.

 

I really am only considering for IFS, Transmission, Transfer Case and rear diff. More precautionary than anything. I don't really want the extra weight, but I also don't want to be SOL in the mountains of CO because I decided to skimp out. More or less a long term goal than anything. I may just end up making my own some day. Once I get larger tires, and UCAs I'll worry much less about scraping. And sliders.

 

@jeff b I noticed the link in your signature. You have a PreRunner and turned it into a 4x4?
