I have scheduled a service appt at Molle on Saturday to have them look at the following on my 18 TRD Sport w/~3k miles:
    • Apply TSB 0058-18/0062-18 - hopefully this fixes the gear hunting/hesitation/surging issues
    • Vibration when I apply the brakes to slow down somewhat quickly from 60mph+
    • Clunk noise coming from the front end when I start accelerating after turning the wheel several turns to pull out of my driveway
    • Driver's seat shifts slightly backward/forward and feels like it is loose or isn't clicked into place, but I've checked and it and is indeed clicked into place.
Anyone have any experience with the service dept at Molle?

Are you sure the clunk isn't axle wrap?

I'm not sure what it could be. I am also not familiar with axle wrap, what is it?

I know 3rd Gens experience it quite a bit. Taking off from a stand still and/or braking in certain temperatures/speeds can feel like you have been slightly tapped in the rear end. Something to do with the quality of springs we have. Mine does it. If I take off from stand still in some temps, it feels like there is slack that is sliding the axle / drive shaft. It is extremely minimal for me and not a big enough deal for me to cry. There actually maybe a TSB for it but it is so common that the dealerships will tell you.

Thanks for educating me on axle wrap. I think I have felt this a couple of times, but wasn't harsh enough for me to complain about. I think the clunk I am hearing is an audible clunk noise and sounds like it is in the front end. Can feel it ever so slightly in the steering wheel as well.

It honestly seems from 2nd Gen up have quirks that drive owners and techs nuts. Certain flaws only show up in certain conditions and certain temperatures. I've been battling a squeal on my carrier for months. But I always get the same response. Drives as designed or we couldn't hear it. I wish you the best of luck with this issue. Please report back with the findings.

Does it happen when you loose traction? if so thats your traction control kicking in. Mine sounds like someone hit the front end with a sledge.

Personally, I found the stock rear leaf packs left a lot to be desired......hence why I'm now on Heavy Duty Dakars....

Here's the Tundra that hit the same tree twice on a rocky uphill section.

This is that section, my attempt. The silver first gen that was behind us left after the tundy hit. The tree to the left of the front end is the one the tundra hit. Tundra had to winch up. I managed somehow.

I mean my wife did bet me $20 bucks I couldn't make it through without hitting the tree, so I had to not hit it. Must've been the anti tree sticker.

No, it was a trail that diverged off of the barn trail.

Not sure that I've ever lost traction in this truck. This is as soon as I put it in drive and begin accelerating after pulling out of a parking spot or driveway.
